Mayor Eric Adams raised an extra $1.3 million for his 2025reelection bid, amounting to over $2.6 million total cash in Hizzoner’s campaign war chest.

The campaign said roughly 2,000 donors contributed to the haul and an additional $2 million will be on the way thanks to approximately $250,000 in matchable donations under the Big Apple’s 8-to-1 matching program for small contributions

“Polls show that the majority of New Yorkers support Mayor Adams—and they are demonstrating their support by contributing an historic amount to his campaign,” Vito Pitta, counsel for Hizzoner’s 2025 reelection bid.

A complete rundown of the haul collected biannually is expected to be posted online later Monday by the NYC Campaign Finance Board.

“Our campaign is well on its way to raising the maximum amount it can spend under the City’s campaign finance system – just 18 months into the mayor’s tenure – because New Yorkers see that Mayor Adams is lowering crime, increasing employment, and moving our city in the right direction,” added Pitta.

Adams’ campaign also refunded 50 contributions totaling just over $11,000 connected to an alleged straw donor scheme, according to Politico.

Neither the mayor or his campaign has been implicated in the case.

The fundraising figures — one of the largest takes for a recent mayoral reelection — dwarfs those of his predecessor, Bill de Blasio, who raked in around 70,000 during his first year and a half in office, according to campaign finance records.

De Blasio later raked in millions through his controversial nonprofit, the Campaign for One New York, which he formed to boost pet proposals but it led to federal and state investigations into pay to play activity.

To date, Hizzoner does not currently face any 2025 primary or general election challengers.
