Two people were shot — one fatally — citywide on Sunday, with no additional gun violence reported by early Monday afternoon, cops said.
The most recent incident came around 8 p.m. when a 47-year-old man was shot in his own Staten Island home, on Cary Avenue near Post Avenue in Port Richmond, during an attempted home invasion robbery.
The victim was taken to Richmond University Medical Center in stable condition, and the two suspects took off, cops said.
It was unclear whether the victim or his home was targeted, according to police.
About 40 minutes earlier, Eric Ford, 28, was blasted once in the torso and twice in the leg at the corner of Ralph Avenue and Lincoln Place in the Weeksville section of Brooklyn, cops said.
He was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting appeared to be gang-related and stemmed from a dispute, police said.
The two men were the only people shot across the five boroughs Sunday, according to preliminary numbers.
No one was shot on that day in 2019, which was a Friday.
As of Sunday, 1,635 people had been shot in 1,331 incidents across the city so far this year.
Victims have more than doubled — and incidents are nearing that mark — compared to the 2019 total.
