New York City’s taxi commissioner says he wants to expand the programming offered on cab’s backseat television screens.

David Yassky says the Taxi and Limousine Commission is working with two companies that operate the devices to come up with more compelling content.

Currently, the screens offer news, weather and cultural information.

A survey of 22,000 taxi riders released Thursday showed that 31 percent of passengers listed the screens as the worst aspect of their yellow cab ride.
