New York City’s transit system is the world’s safest for women, says a new study of mass transit in 16 of the world’s largest cities.
In terms of violence, sexual harassment, perceptions of safety and confidence in help from bystanders, New York topped even London and Tokyo in the Thomson Reuters Foundation survey of 6,000 women.
Latin American cities ranked lowest, with Bogota, Colombia, being the least safe.
