A woman was found dead after an apartment at a Queens public housing complex went up in flames Thursday night, police said.
The victim was discovered with burns and trauma to the body after the blaze was extinguished at a unit in the Queensbridge Houses at about 6:20 p.m., according to the NYPD.
The woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead, police said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and an autopsy will determine the woman’s cause of death, authorities said.
