A 78-year-old Brooklyn woman who was found in her home with a phone cord wrapped around her neck was fatally strangled, cops said Monday morning.

Juanita Caballero’s son found the victim lying on the floor — with the cord around her neck — in the hallway of the Woodson Houses apartment on Powell Street near Dumont Avenue in Brownsville just before 5 p.m. Friday, according to authorities and police sources.

The senior, described as unconscious and unresponsive, was pronounced dead on scene, cops said.

Her death was ruled a homicide by asphyxiation, police confirmed.

So far, no suspects have been identified, and the circumstances of the murder were unclear Monday morning.
