Pride has been stepped up on Roosevelt Island. The city’s largest gay pride “flag” was unveiled Saturday to the delight of visitors at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park, where a 12-by-100 foot staircase was painted like a rainbow.
The display, which coincides with Pride Month and the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, will be in the park throughout the month.
