New York City’s ASPCA is shutting down its emergency shelter for pets displaced by Superstorm Sandy.

The ASPCA is urging owners to reclaim their pets from the shelter it opened Nov. 17 in Brooklyn.

The ASPCA has provided shelter for nearly 280 animals at the emergency boarding facility.

More than 100 pets have been reunited with their families. But nearly 140 displaced animals still remain at the shelter waiting to be claimed.

Pet owners who wish to reclaim their pets can call the Hurricane Sandy Pet Hotline at 347-537-9935.
