Gataulla Rustemovich “Gata” Kamsky, of Brooklyn, is also $42,000 richer after defeating Yury Shulman, of Chicago, Wednesday in a 2½-hour grandmaster showdown in St. Louis.

Shulman gets $30,000 of the $170,000 prize money.
