New Jersey Gov.-elect Chris Christie has tapped a former New York City councilman and state tax commissioner to be New Jersey’s treasurer.

Christie announced Andrew Eristoff of Manhattan as his nominee. Eristoff, 46, was New York State Tax Commissioner under Gov. George Pataki.
