The number of city food pantries and soup kitchens is down 25 percent in the last five years, says a report from an anti-hunger group.
The Food Bank for New York City’s report also finds more people have been coming to emergency food providers — and more are being turned away.
The report, based on data from before Sandy, said the storm shows the need for food relief.
