The NYPD and ASPCA on Monday unveiled this swanky, $500,000 mobile unit to handle animal-abuse complaints across the city.
“This vehicle will prove to be a great resource in the field as we investigate and seek to prosecute animal cruelty cases,” said NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill.
The van, which was paid for with a grant from the ASPCA, will be used for “large scale incidents” like dog- or cock-fighting rings where multiple people may be arrested and many animals would need to be processed, officials said.
