Police asked the public for help in locating Jose Antonio Ortiz, 46, who was reported missing by his family yesterday. He was last seen getting into his blue Jeep Cherokee in front of his home on East Mosholu Parkway on Dec. 30. Authorities said he has a bi-polar disorder.
Police are searching for two men who robbed a woman at gunpoint as she entered her Kingsbridge apartment.
The thugs followed the 37-year-old woman out of an elevator in the West 230th Street building near Broadway at 7:50 p.m. Sunday, cops said.
When they got to the front door of her apartment, one thief pulled a gun, forced his way inside and swiped $240 and two cellphones. The accomplice acted as a lookout.
The victim was unhurt.
QUEENS
A woman was arrested after breaking a bottle over another woman’s head at an East Elmhurst bar early yesterday, law enforcement officials said.
Zamira Torres, 24, accused the victim of taking her seat at the Rancho Jubilee, at 94th Street and 23rd Avenue, just before 5 a.m.
The 30-year-old victim, whose name was not released, refused to give up the chair, and Torres struck her with the bottle, authorities said.
Security guards tossed Torres from the club.
Torres went to the nearby 115th Precinct station house to file a complaint against the bouncers but didn’t mention anything about her fight.
Cops quickly discovered that Torres attacked the woman and charged her with assault.
A Ridgewood jewelry store was burglarized yesterday by thieves who tore a hole in the roof of the shop on Myrtle Avenue, just after 1 a.m.
They stole watches, necklaces and earrings worth more than $35,000, cops said.
MANHATTAN
A man was stabbed several times by a group of thugs in the East Village yesterday, authorities said.
The 28-year-old victim, whose name was withheld, was walking home along Avenue D at about 6 a.m. when eight men surrounded him and demanded money.
They stabbed him in the right torso before taking an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
He was in stable condition at Beth Israel Hospital.
STATEN ISLAND
A woman was stabbed three times while trying to break up a fight between two other women at a party in Arlington yesterday, police said.
The 21-year-old victim stood between two women who were arguing at Continental Avenue near Andros Avenue.
Moments after the victim tried to separate them, she was stabbed three times.
It was not clear whether one or both of the women had turned on the peacemaker.
The injured woman was listed in stable condition at St. Vincent Hospital.
BROOKLYN
A young man was shot in the left hand in Brownsville early yesterday, police said.
Paramedics took the 20-year-old victim, who was wounded shortly after midnight on East New York Avenue, to Kings County Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The victim’s name was withheld.
