A pair of brothers who have worked for the NYPD for more than 30 years welcomed two family members to the force this week.

NYPD Inspector Timothy McCormack and Assistant Chief Chris McCormack will now count their nephew, James McCormack, 22, and Chris’s daughter, Ashley, 23, as fellow officers.

“My daughter’s been my little girl for a real long time,” proud papa Chris McCormack said. “She’s always been around with me. She gone on some jobs. She’s been around some of my guys in Narcotics, and I think she’s had that little bug in her for a quite a few years to come and follow my footsteps.”

Ashley, 22 who is a former teacher, said she couldn’t have completed training without her dad and uncle supporting her. She said she joined the department because she wants to help people.

“I grew up being a Girl Scout, doing community service. Went to college and did community service. I wanted to be out there helping people,” she said.

James McCormack, the son of a third brother, became a cop alongside his cousin Monday.

He said his “main goal is to help the community and make things better.”

Both cousins have been given assignments in the Bronx. James aspires to be an ESU officer, while Ashley wants to go as far as she can.

“I just want to be a boss. I want to move up the ranks,” she said.

When asked if that means becoming commissioner, Ashley replied, “If I can be that, why not?”

Monday’s graduating class had 726 new officers from 41 different countries.
