NYPD detectives yanked more than 6 kilograms of meth off the streets of Staten Island in what police hailed as a major drug bust in the area.
The department’s Staten Island Overdose Task Force arrested 40-year-old Nicholas Genovese with more than 6 kilos of methamphetamine shortly before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday on Bay Street in the North Shore, police said.
“One of the biggest narcotics arrests we’ve seen in some time — keep up the great work!” the NYPD’s 120th Precinct wrote in a Thursday Twitter post, adding a photo of 15 bags of the highly addictive drugs.
Genovese was charged with five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, cops said.
