The rookie NYPD cop who allegedly gunned down his “best friend” on Long Island last week was arrested on a murder charge Thursday, authorities said.
Off-duty Errick Allen, 27, is accused of opening fire just after 8 p.m. May 12 in front of a house on Langdon Road in Farmingdale, striking 25-year-old Chris Curro five times, cops said.
Curro, a pizza deliveryman, was shot twice in the face, twice in the neck and once in the shoulder, his stepmother previously told The Post.
Allen, a cop in the 109th Precinct in Queens, allegedly shot childhood friend Curro during an argument, but it was unclear what sparked the dispute.
The officer, who has been suspended without pay, was arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree murder, New York Attorney General Letitia James announced.
Errick Allen“We trust our police officers to protect the safety of New Yorkers, but instead, this individual allegedly betrayed that duty to end another man’s life,” James said in a statement. “My office is committed to ensuring justice is served and that no individual is above the law.”
The state AG partnered with the Nassau County Police Department on the case.
Allen is expected to be arraigned Thursday afternoon.
