An NYPD cop injured his leg while chasing after a thief in the Bronx early Tuesday morning, police said.
The cop hurt himself during the foot pursuit on Undercliff Avenue near West 174th Street in the Morris Heights section at about 1:20 a.m., authorities said.
The suspect, who was not immediately identified, was arrested by other officers after the chase. Grand larceny charges against him were pending.
Details about what led to the foot chase weren’t immediately available.
The injured officer was taken to a local hospital by a fellow cop, authorities said.
He’s expected to make a full recovery.
