A rookie NYPD cop with just three months on the force was shot in the leg on Wednesday during an altercation in Queens, cops said.

Officer Brett Boller, 22, was struck by gunfire when a suspect opened fire while attempting to evade arrest on 161st St. near Jamaica Avenue at around 3:30 p.m., according to police.

The ruckus began when an MTA bus driver flagged down Boller and his partner after a man onboard brandished a firearm.

The suspect rushed off the bus as the officers tried to board, and a “slight struggle ensued,” police said.

The perpetrator pushed past the cops and fled the scene, but didn’t make it far before Boller caught up and tussled with the man.

The suspect whipped out a gun and shot Boller once in the right hip.

His partner — who also has less than a year on the job — fired two return shots, though it’s not clear if the suspect was struck.

A dramatic video from the scene shows a swarm of officers quickly tying a tourniquet around Boller’s right leg as he lies on the Queens sidewalk.

At least five cops grabbed the rookie off the ground and raced to put him in the back of an NYPD van.

“Get out of the way, get out of the way, get out of the way now!” a male officer can be heard screaming over a microphone just seconds before the vehicle zipped down a one-way street in the opposite direction.

The officer was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he is undergoing surgery. He was listed in stable condition.

Mayor Eric Adams blamed the rampant use of guns on city streets during a press conference at Jamaica Hospital on Wednesday evening.

“The proliferation of guns and too many people are willing to use it repeatedly,” Adams said.

“And that is why the extreme recidivists must be identified and removed from our streets. When you could display a weapon over a dispute on the bus, that says a lot that is why we are continuing to remove these guns off our streets.”

The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, the NYPD said.

Police said the perpetrator was last seen at 161st Street and Hillside Avenue wearing a white t-shirt and black pants after ditching his black bubble jacket and orange sweatshirt inside a nearby parking garage.

The department is in the process of interviewing witnesses and is offering a $10,000 reward for information on his whereabouts. Cops were still searching for two other suspects on Wednesday.

Boller, of the 103rd precinct, was assigned to the Jamacia Business District to help stem the surge in shoplifting, sources said.

The rookie cop is the son of an NYPD inspector in the Brooklyn North precinct. He was appointed to the force last July.
