NYPD cops rescued a woman who refused to come down from the ledge of a Brooklyn overpass on Tuesday night, authorities and witnesses said.
Officers were able to grab the woman off the railing after she dropped her cigarette, according to a witness. Paul MartinkaThe woman was first spotted by a motorist on a railing atop an entrance ramp to the Gowanus Expressway in Bay Ridge at about 6:15 p.m., police said.

Officers were able to grab the woman off the railing.. Paul MartinkaThe driver tried to talk to the woman, but she would not respond, cops said.
Members of the NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit arrived, along with other cops, and closed a portion of the roadway surrounding 65th Street and 3rd Avenue as they communicated with the woman.
