*** A scrappy East Flatbush resident fought off a would-be rapist, authorities said yesterday.
The incident began at 5:30 a.m. Monday, when a 29-year-old woman returned to her Brooklyn Avenue building after partying at a nightclub and in a courtyard spotted Jeremy Bradley, who had earlier asked her out on a date, police sources said.
As the woman hurriedly entered the building, Bradley allegedly came up behind her with a gun in his hand, demanding sex.
He then allegedly struck her in the back with his arms and shoved her against a wall. Then he allegedly exposed himself and rubbed up against the woman, who screamed and fought him off.
After Bradley fled, the woman called cops from her apartment.
He was arrested that day and charged with attempted rape, sexual abuse and assault. The victim was released after treatment at Kings County Hospital.A Flatbush man was arrested for burning his 9-year-old son, authorities said yesterday.
At 3 p.m. on April 25, Jose Williamson, 36, allegedly burned his son’s hand on a stove in his East 18th Street residence.
The victim, who did not receive medical attention, was told by his father’s girlfriend to lie if anyone asked about the burns, sources said.
But the boy told the truth when a guidance counselor at his school on Monday asked him about the burns.
Police were called and arrested Williamson that day on charges of assault, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. The victim was taken to Long Island College Hospital.
*** A Flatbush teenager was arrested early yesterday for beating an acquaintance after allegedly cursing at the victim’s girlfriend, police sources said yesterday.
Police sources said Matthew Jacky, 19, was using his victim’s cellphone at East 29th Street and Clarendon Road about 12:40 a.m. when the victim’s girlfriend dialed the phone.
After Jacky handed back the phone, the victim’s girlfriend called a second time, this time telling her boyfriend that Jacky had cursed at her when she called earlier, the sources said.
The men argued, and Jacky repeatedly slugged the victim in the face and bit his hand, according to the sources. A man acquainted with the victim tried to break up the fight by escorting the victim into his nearby car.
Jacky then allegedly picked up a rock and smashed two of the car’s windows.
The victim got out of the vehicle, and Jacky allegedly bashed him in the head with the rock.
A witness called cops and Jacky was arrested on charges of assault, menacing and criminal mischief.
QUEENS
*** A bandit made off with cash after sticking up a Little Neck bank and claiming to have a bomb in a box, cops said yesterday.
The unidentified man, in his 40s, was carrying a box when he drove up to the drive-through window at the Queens Savings Bank at 254-09 Horace Harding Expressway at 1:42 p.m. Monday.
He slipped the teller a note, which stated there was a bomb in the box, and demanded money.
The thief received an undetermined amount of cash and fled. No injuries were reported.
MANHATTAN
*** A Washington Heights resident was shot in the face outside a Lower East Side apartment building yesterday, police sources said.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, was hit in the left cheek during an argument with another man outside the Lillian Wald Houses at 709 FDR Drive at 4:45 p.m.
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition. The shooter fled on foot.
*** (s,l) A man died early yesterday after he plunged five stories from a Lower East Side apartment building, authorities said.
The unidentified man either fell or jumped from the roof of the building at 76 Orchard St. about 2:30 a.m. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
THE BRONX
*** A fight between two men early yesterday ended with one shot several times on a West Farms street, police sources said.
The 31-year-old victim got into an altercation with the 25-year-old suspect on Bronx River Avenue near East 174th Street about 1:45 a.m. The assailant pulled a gun and fired five shots, hitting the victim in the face, left shoulder and left leg. The wounded man was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The gunman fled.
It was not immediately clear what prompted the attack.
