NYPD DAILY BLOTTER
MANHATTAN
*** Cops are looking for this trio (above) in connection with a bias-related assault that occurred inside the Herald Square subway station last week.
A white man in his 20s and two women, whose race and age were not clear, got into a dispute with a 22-year-old black woman and her friend Wednesday at about 11:30 p.m. in the B, D and F lines part of the station, police said.
During the argument, anti-black statements were directed at the woman before the man slashed her across the face.
The victim suffered a small wound and was taken to Bellevue Hospital where she was treated and released. Her friend was not hurt.
The assailant and his companions fled.
QUEENS
*** Cops were looking for a note-passing thief who fled a Forest Hills bank with an undetermined amount of cash.
The money package given him apparently exploded soon after the robbery.
The robbery occurred at 2:05 p.m. Friday when a man entered a Chase branch at 107-36 71st Ave. and handed a teller a threatening note.
He was handed a sum of money in a “dye pack,” a device rigged to explode and spread ink on a robber, and fled.
BROOKLYN
*** A Brooklyn man who had a reputation as a “ladies’ man” was gunned down in cold blood in front of his horrified pals, and friends believe the motive was jealousy.
Andrew Holness, 19, known to pals as “Mr. Bigs,” was shot twice at close range as he and three friends, two men and a woman, were hanging out by the jungle gym in the Evergreen Playground on Schaeffer Street in Bushwick at 11:30 p.m. Friday, police said.
A witness who asked not to be identified said he saw two men, possibly the victim’s friends, “running for their lives” and then a man dressed in black and carrying a shopping bag calmly strolling out of the park.
Holness was declared dead at Woodhull Hospital.
Police said they did not know why Holness was slain, but the victim’s friends said they believe the motive was jealousy.
“He was a real lady’s man. Guys got jealous with him. He had a lot of female friends,” said Yannick Daley, 24.
“This is very shocking to me. He never had no problems with anybody. He was very good with the ladies,” said another friend, Bernard Downs, 31.
“It wasn’t drug related and it wasn’t gang related. He was so loving it had to be jealousy,” added another pal.
*** A gunman wounded a 46-year-old man in Bedford-Stuyvesant early yesterday, police said.
The assailant shot the man twice at 4:55 a.m., at 1030 Park Place, just as the victim tried to enter that building, police said.
The wounded man was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was listed in critical, but stable condition.
