*** Police yesterday were investigating the stabbing death of a teenager found in a Washington Heights alley, cops said.
The unidentified victim, about 18, was discovered with two knife wounds to the chest in the alley between a housing project and PS 28 at West 156th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue at 1:50 a.m., police said.
QUEENS
*** An ex-con was arrested in the statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl in his Richmond Hill apartment on three separate occasions, authorities said yesterday.
Bejai Lakhan, 30, was busted Monday after the victim’s mother learned of the sexual encounters and alerted police, sources said.
Lakhan was charged with three counts of rape and endangering the welfare of a child, according to a spokeswoman for District Attorney Richard Brown.
Lakhan is accused of having consensual sex with his girlfriend in his 111th Street basement apartment last December, sources said.
Law-enforcement sources said the relationship began when the girl was just 12.
State records show Lakhan was convicted of first-degree robbery in 1994 and served nearly two years in state prison.
*** A man was arrested after he threatened to kill his estranged wife with a knife and then set her Glendale home on fire, authorities said yesterday.
The incident occurred between 2 and 7:15 a.m. Monday when Bennett Rivers, 49, broke into his wife’s 69th Place home, went to her bed and covered her mouth and nose with his hand, sources said.
Wielding a knife, Rivers then allegedly disconnected her phone and threatened to kill her.
He then set the master bedroom and living room on fire.
A fire alarm was sent, firefighters put out the blaze, and police arrested Rivers.
He was charged with burglary, arson, attempted assault and menacing, according to a spokeswoman for DA Richard Brown.
*** A woman was attacked in an apparent domestic incident on a subway train in Far Rockaway yesterday, authorities said.
The victim, whose name and age were not available, was aboard a Manhattan-bound A train at 12:30 p.m. at Beach 67th Street at Rockaway Beach Boulevard when she was assaulted by an unidentified man.
She was taken to Peninsula General Hospital for unspecified injuries. The assailant escaped.
STATEN ISLAND
*** A Grant City McDonald’s employee helped police arrest a drunken driver after she noticed the motorist was under the influence, authorities said yesterday.
The incident began at 4 p.m. Monday when Diane St. John, 45, drove her 1998 Nissan Sentra into the drive-through lane of the fast-food restaurant at Hylan Boulevard and Midland Avenue and placed an order, sources said.
When St. John drove up to the pick-up window, the worker noticed she had bloodshot eyes, a flushed face, slurred speech and reeked of booze, the sources said.
The worker immediately informed her manager, who called police.
Cops arrived, halted St. John and administered a Breathalyzer test, which she failed, sources said.
She was arrested and charged with DWI, according to a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.
*** A woman was busted for biting a cop’s thumb after he instructed her to move her car on a Livingston street, authorities said yesterday.
Chaitra Allen, 25, stopped her car in front of 810 Henderson Ave. at 9:48 p.m. on Friday and allegedly refused to move the vehicle when a cop came up and told her to do so.
Allen allegedly told the officer, “I’m not moving because there’s nowhere to go,” and bit the cop’s left thumb when he tried to arrest her, a Criminal Court complaint states.
She was charged with assault, attempted assault, resisting arrest and two counts of disorderly conduct, a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan said.
*** A St. George man was nabbed for trespassing after he refused to get off a Staten Island Ferry boat, law-enforcement sources said yesterday.
William Hicks, 48, was aboard the Alice Austen when it pulled into the St. George terminal at 4 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.
He stayed on after all other passengers had gotten off, and when shipmates instructed him to go ashore, he allegedly began yelling and screaming obscenities.
He also allegedly flailed his arms when cops tried to handcuff him.
He is charged with criminal trespass and resisting arrest.
*** A security guard caught a man trying to steal baby formula from a Shop Rite supermarket in New Dorp, authorities said yesterday.
At 11 a.m. Monday, the guard saw Earl Degroat, 38, take Enfamil from a shelf in the supermarket at Hylan Boulevard near Burbank Avenue, put it in the hood of his coat and try to leave without paying.
The guard stopped him and called police.
Degroat was charged with attempted criminal possession of stolen property.
BROOKLYN
*** A 22-year-old man was busted yesterday for using fake credit cards several times at the same Brooklyn gas station.
Roxroy Whyte, who has prior arrests for drug possession, was arrested after cops were told several customers had used bogus cards at the BP station at 720 New York Ave. in East Flatbush.
After an investigation, they determined that all of the incidents could be blamed on Whyte, authorities said, adding that he had several cards in several different names with stolen information.
He was charged with possession of a forged instrument, grand larceny and identity theft.
THE BRONX
*** A 5-month-old boy died early yesterday after being found unconscious in his family’s Melrose apartment, police said.
The tot, whose name was not immediately released, was discovered by his mother in their East 163rd Street apartment at College Avenue at 4:50 a.m., cops said.
After the mother called 911, EMS brought the baby to Lincoln Hospital, where he died about 30 minutes later.
Police said the body bore no apparent signs of violence, but were awaiting the results of an autopsy.
