* A man was mugged and knifed outside a Rockefeller Center fast food restaurant yesterday.

An employee of a Wendy’s restaurant, in the underground concourse level at 1211 Sixth Avenue, had just withdrawn a “large amount” of cash at about 5 p.m., and was headed back to the store when he was attacked by a man described as black, about 5’10, and wearing a white shirt, a police source said. The thug cut the employee’s arm, grabbed the cash and fled. It was unclear if the money belonged to the victim or the restaurant. (lcf)

* A man plunged to his death in front of horrified rush-hour passengers on a crowded Midtown station yesterday, police said.

The middle-aged man, who was not immediately identified, jumped from the platform into the path of a Times Square-bound No. 7 train at the Fifth Avenue station at 5:30 p.m., police said. (lcf)

* A note-passing bandit made off with $3,000 after sticking up the HSBC branch at Broadway and West 36th Street at 9 a.m. Monday, police said yesterday.

BROOKLYN

* A teenager was arrested yesterday after she stabbed a girl who was collecting her younger brother from an East New York school, cops said.

The 14-year-old victim was stabbed in her left arm and chest during a fight PS202 schoolyard, where she had gone to meet her 8-year-old brother. Her alleged attacker, a 13-year-old girl, also attends the school.

The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition. Cops were unsure what sparked the argument. (s, lcf)

* A man and a woman were arrested after beating another woman and threatening to kill her fiancé in a Brownsville robbery, authorities said yesterday.

The incident began at 4:05 a.m. on May 8, when the 21-year-old woman was walking with her fiancé on Decatur Street and encountered Salih “Smooth” Townsley, 28, and Tiffany Smith, 21, sources said.

An argument relating to prostitution ensued, sources said. The victims claim Townsley pointed a gun at them as Smith assaulted the woman and stole her $1,000 Cartier watch, $1,500 diamond tennis bracelet and $500 in cash.

Police arrested Townsley on May 8, charging him with assault, menacing and robbery. Smith was busted Monday on the same charges.

* A Red Hook resident pummeled and slashed the brother of a man who once dated his girlfriend, authorities said yesterday.

The incident began at 7:15 p.m. Friday, when the 24-year-old man ran into Rick Hereford, 28, and his girlfriend in a grocery store on Columbia Street, sources said.

After the man greeted Hereford’s girlfriend, Hereford got angry and started arguing with him. The man walked out of the store, where his 20-year-old brother was waiting for him. Hereford came up from behind with a pocketknife in hand, but the man’s brother stepped between the two.

As Hereford and the brother slugged it out, Hereford slashed him across the stomach, sources said, and then stabbed the wounded man in the back before fleeing.

The victim was rushed to Lutheran Medical Center. Hereford surrendered to police Monday.

* A man was arrested after he slashed a male acquaintance on a Fort Greene street, authorities said yesterday.

Sources said Marcos Ortiz, 51, argued with the 41-year-old victim on Steuben Street near Park Avenue at 8:50 a.m. on May 11.

The dispute was over Ortiz allegedly parking his car in front of the driveway where the victim worked.

Ortiz pulled a knife and pressed it to the victim’s neck, sources said. The victim shoved Ortiz away, and the knife-wielder fled.

The victim, who suffered a small scratch to his neck, called 911. Ortiz surrendered to cops on Monday.

THE BRONX

* Police are searching for a woman who disappeared from her family’s Crotona Park East home.

Evelyn Santiago (above), 63, who police say is in poor mental health, was last seen leaving her family’s Intervale Avenue residence on her way back to her Taylor Avenue apartment at 8:30 a.m. Monday. She was wearing a black jacket, brown shirt, blue jeans and gray sneakers.

* A man was shot to death yesterday as he sat in a vehicle outside his Parkchester home, authorities said yesterday.

Omar Velez, 26, and another man were in the car on Merrill Street near Beach Avenue at 2:22 a.m. when a gunman opened fire, cops said.

Velez was hit once in the head and died at the scene, police said.

* A bandit was arrested after holding up a Westchester Square bank, police said yesterday.

Robert Bonil, 50, walked into a North Fork branch near Roberts Avenue at 2:44 p.m. Monday and passed a teller a note. Bonil, who was given more than $1000, fled to the East Tremont train station, where police captured him.

STATEN ISLAND

* An alleged thief simulating a gun in his pocket snatched a portable video game from a man on a city bus in Willowbrook, authorities said yesterday.

Vladmir Merolus, 30, confronted his 26-year-old victim as they rode the bus at Richmond and Merrill avenues, sources said.

Cops arrested Merolus as he tried to run away. He was charged with robbery and resisting arrest, according to a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.

* A drunken motorist was busted early yesterday after cops noticed him driving with his headlights off near the Staten Island Mall, authorities said yesterday.

Guillermo Cadenas, 20, was driving a 2000 Buick Regal at Richmond and Yukon avenues when police stopped his car at 1:30 a.m., sources said. A blood-alcohol test revealed Cadenas was at more than twice the legal limit.
