*** An emotionally disturbed man assaulted his girlfriend in East Harlem before slashing himself, police said yesterday.

Cops were called to 115 E. 115th St. at 9:20 p.m. Friday after a 27-year- old woman was allegedly assaulted by her 29-year-old boyfriend, police said.

The boyfriend, whose name was not released, was taken into custody without incident and taken to Harlem Hospital in serious condition with self-inflicted cuts, sources said.

The woman was also taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.

*** A teenager handling a gun in an Upper West Side apartment with two pals was shot and wounded – and then arrested for misleading cops about what happened, sources said yesterday.

Justin Paul, 18, was handling a 9-mm semi-automatic pistol with his buddies, Darius McRae, 18, and Clarence Hodrick, 20, inside McRae’s apartment at 830 Columbus Ave. at 3 p.m. Friday, the sources said.

While the weapon was allegedly in McRae’s hands, it suddenly discharged, leaving Paul with an ankle wound.

The wounded man was taken to a hospital where he was expected to recover – and later arrested for filing a false police report.

McRae was arrested for assault while Hodrick, who apparently admitted owning the gun, was charged with weapons possession, the sources said.

QUEENS

*** Cops yesterday arrested a man after they saw him stab another man in Elmhurst, sources said.

Officers on patrol allegedly saw Johnny Sanchez, 21, trying to enter a home at 94-15 43rd Ave. at 3:50 a.m., the sources said.

When the door to the residence opened, the officers saw a dispute arise between Sanchez and the home-owner, Luis Chimbarazo, 46.

Sanchez allegedly stabbed Chimbarazo twice – once in the stomach and once in the chest – and the cops on the scene quickly arrested the assailant.

Chimbarazo was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

Sanchez, of 32nd Avenue, who has a criminal record for robbery and assault, was charged with attempted murder and weapons possession.

*** Detectives were probing the death of a man found early yesterday in Long Island City.

The victim, described only as an Asian man, was discovered unconscious with head trauma at 3:50 a.m. at the corner of 43rd Road and 12th Street. He was declared dead at the scene.

THE BRONX

*** A 16-year-old youth who shot and wounded another man during a robbery in Soundview last week has been arrested, police said yesterday.

Divine Fredericks allegedly accosted a 40- year-old man at 11 p.m. Tuesday when the victim was getting off an elevator at 1682 Seward Ave. The teen demanded jewelry and cash from the victim, prompting a struggle, leading Fredericks to fire a shot that grazed the victim in the face, sources said.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition. Fredericks, of Rosedale Avenue, was charged with robbery, weapons possession and assault.

BROOKLYN

*** A 23-year-old man walking down the street in East New York was shot and wounded for no apparent reason, cops said.

Junior Brown, 23, was standing in front of 860 New Lotts Ave. at 10:38 a.m. when he claimed to have been shot in the hand, said police.

He was taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition – and is said to have been uncooperative with cops.

“He said he was shot by the bullet fairy,” cracked one detective.

But relatives of the wounded man told The Post Brown had gotten into an argument with another man before a black Ford SUV pulled up nearby and fired a shot, followed by two more. The victim ran into a nearby store after he’d been shot, according to a shopkeeper.
