THE BRONX
* Cops have a suspect in the shooting of a man as he was leaving a party in High Bridge last month, police said.

* A man was shot dead by a gunman during an argument on a Tremont street, police sources said yesterday.
Israel Martinez, 36, encountered the suspect, described only as a man in his 20s, at the corner of East 180th Street and Bryant Avenue at 10 p.m. Tuesday, the sources said.
It was unclear what sparked the dispute that led to the assailant pulling a gun and shooting Martinez in the hip. Martinez was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died.
BROOKLYN
* Cops were searching for a Sunset Park bank robber who claimed he was carrying a bomb.
The thief hit the Washington Mutual branch on Fifth Avenue near 53rd Street around 9. 10 a.,m. on July 26, and said he had an explosive device and ordered a teller to fork over cash, cops said. He received an unspecified amount of money and fled.
The crook was described as a 6-foot, 160-pound white or Hispanic man in his early to mid 30s. He was wearing a beige baseball cap, white sneakers, white shirt, brown construction gloves and brown sunglasses.
* A pit bull was shot after it lunged towards cops at an apartment building at the intersection of St. John’s Place and Albany Avenue in Weeksville yesterday afternoon, police sources said.
The dog was shot in the head, but somehow survived. No one was arrested. (lcf)
* A Queens man tried to slither out of a lawsuit from an Iraq war soldier by claiming to be a Marines major headed overseas, prosecutors said.
Benjamin Cruz, 39, faces four years behind bars if convicted of presenting fake orders to a Brooklyn court where he was being sued for botching financial work for an Army servicewoman.
Cruz was arraigned last night and held on $1,000 bail. (lcf)
* A Sheepshead Bay resident was arrested for stabbing a New Jersey man and extensively damaging his Mercedes-Benz, authorities said yesterday.
Sources said Antin Rudenko, 36, walked up to his 37-year-old victim on East 24th Street and Avenue Y at about 11:20 p.m. on July 7, sources said.
Rudenko jumped the man and stabbed him in the arm, the sources said. He used a brick to smash the windshield and side windows of the victim’s 2001 Mercedes-Benz and damaged the car’s interior. The victim was taken to Lutheran Hospital, where he received extensive stitches.
* A Crown Heights man was arrested for threatening to kill a city bus driver after failing to pay the fare, authorities said yesterday.
Allen Slater, 22, boarded a B44 bus at the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Fulton Street at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, sources said.
Slater apparently declined to pay the fare, and when the driver told him to pay or get off, the suspect became belligerent and allegedly threatened to fatally shoot him and pour gas over him.
In a rage, Slater rushed to the back of the bus, smashed a sign and shattered glass encasing an emergency brake that he then pulled, sources said.
* A bicyclist died in Brownsville in a collision with a truck, police sources said yesterday.
Rodney Hill, 27, was riding along Linden Boulevard at 8:47 p.m. Tuesday and collided with a Cablevision truck traveling north on Church Avenue.
Hill was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where he died, police said. The driver stayed at the scene and was not issued a summons, cops said.
MANHATTAN
* A man in his 40s was found dead in his car yesterday in front of 1159-64 Harlem River Drive in East Harlem around 5 a.m. yesterday , police sources said.
The cause of death, which may be heat releated, will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s office. (lcf)
* A man found floating in the East River died after being rushed to Bellevue Hospital yesterday, police said.
Marshall Artis, 58, of Baruch Drive, was discovered off East 27th Street before 11:10 a.m., cops said.
QUEENS
* A man was arrested on charges he stabbed an acquaintance in a St. Albans home, authorities said yesterday.
Barrington Barry, 51, brandishing a screwdriver and a kitchen knife, confronted his 53-year-old victim in the home on 172nd Street at 6:10 a.m. Monday, sources said.
It was unclear what sparked the anger that led to Barry allegedly stabbing the victim several times in the chest.
Police arrested Barry, who was charged with attempted murder, assault and weapons possession, according to a spokeswoman for DA Richard Brown.
* Two thugs were arrested for mugging and beating a man on a Rockaway street, authorities said yesterday.
Lumar Hilliard, 21, Junior Greene, 19, and about five accomplices accosted the 20-year-old victim at Beach 110th Street and Beach Channel Drive at 11:50 p.m. on June 4, sources said.
The gang allegedly kicked and punched the victim in the face, breaking his jaw and other facial bones.
They then swiped the victim’s cellphone and fled.
Greene was arrested on July 6 and Hilliard was busted Monday.
* A bandit broke into an Astoria church and stole money yesterday, police said.
An employee of Saint Catherine and Saint George Greek Orthodox Church on 33rd Street near Ditmars Boulevard discovered the theft at around 9 a.m., cops said.
