BROOKLYN

* A fight between two men on a Bed-Stuy street ended in the stabbing death of one of the men and the arrest of the other. According to police, Roy Smith, 26, began arguing with Keith Henderson, 45, outside a bodega on Nostrand Avenue at about 6 p.m. The argument turned into a fistfight before Smith allegedly stabbed Henderson in the torso. He died at Kings County Hospital. Witnesses flagged down two rookie 79th Precinct cops on patrol. Officers Brian Melseri and Alan Guerra chased Smith and made the arrest. (lcf)

* A man has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery in East New York, and cops are searching for a second suspect. Edward Garrins, 36, was charged with robbery in the Oct. 23 heist at the Washington Mutual branch at 1240 Liberty Ave. around 2 p.m. Garrins and an unidentified man in his 20s walked into the bank, handed notes demanding money to two tellers and escaped with $10,969 in cash, police said.

* An MTA employee has been charged with raping a 16-year-old boy in Crown Heights, police said yesterday. Barbra Greene, 35, a token-booth clerk, was arrested Wednesday for having sex with the boy at least 20 times between April and December 2001, authorities said. She was charged with third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy, endangering the welfare of a child and sexual misconduct.

* One man died and another was critically injured yesterday when their cars collided in Bay Ridge, police said. Ricky Villa, 25, made a wrong turn off a road and was driving west on the eastbound side of the Belt Parkway at 65th Street around 4 a.m. when his car crashed into another vehicle driven by Paul Ma, 34, cops said. Ma was pronounced dead at the scene. Villa was taken to Lutheran Hospital in critical condition.

* The medical examiner yesterday ruled as a homicide last August’s death of a transsexual prostitute. Police said Carl Benton, 43, of 1205 Eastern Parkway, admitted himself to Kings County Hospital last July. He was suffering from AIDS, police sources said. A month later, Benton died of the deadly disease and complications of receiving silicone injections for his breasts, authorities said. Cops are searching for one of three friends who allegedly administered the injections, the sources said. No arrests have been made.

THE BRONX

* A teenager was killed and another injured yesterday when they crashed their car while fleeing cops in Tremont, police said. Cops received a call of a car being stripped and responded to the corner of West 172nd and Bryant streets. They observed two teens dashing from one car into a second vehicle, which sped off. The officers did not give chase, but the teens crashed their car into a building at 1061 Boston Road for reasons not immediately clear. The driver was killed and the passenger taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.

* An off-duty auxiliary officer was arrested when he was found with a semi-automatic pistol and 46 rounds of ammunition in his Highbridge home, law-enforcement sources said yesterday. Miguel Melendez, 47, assigned to Patrol Service Area 7, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon yesterday after a .40- caliber gun was found in a desk drawer in his bedroom around 4 p.m., sources said. Melendez produced a Pennsylvania gun license, but had no permit to carry a firearm in New York.

MANHATTAN

* A man arrested for allegedly stealing cash from a Gramercy Park bank two days ago was charged yesterday with robbing a bank earlier this month. According to police David Wilkinson, 43, on Wednesday walked into the Flushing Savings branch at 33 Irving Place at 11:50 a.m. Demanding cash, he told the manager he was afflicted with hepatitis and was carrying something harmful in a bag. After the manager handed Wilkinson $200, the thief tried to leave the bank, but was busted by cops responding to an alarm. Wilkinson was also charged with entering an Independence bank at 43 E. 8th St. on March 7.

* The body of a man with no visible signs of trauma was found in his bed at his Washington Heights home, police said yesterday. The body of the 25-year-old man was discovered Wednesday around 5p.m. by his sister in the apartment at 60 Haven Ave. (m, s)
