MANHATTAN
* The NYPD yesterday released a photo (above) of a thief who attempted to rob a Murray Hill bank.
The unidentified bandit, sporting a goatee and carrying a knapsack, strolled into a Chase branch on Madison Avenue near East 38th Street and verbally demanded cash from a teller, police said.
The teller refused, and the suspect fled.
He was described as 32 to 36 years old, standing 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-1 and weighing 170.
He was wearing a gray-hooded sweatshirt, a light-colored baseball cap and blue jeans.
* A possible drug-related attack led to the fatal shooting of a man on a Harlem street, police sources said yesterday.
Eric Dowe, 34, was hit several times in the chest on Frederick Douglass Boulevard and West 134th Street at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, when a gunman opened fire and fled, sources said.
Dowe was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he died.
QUEENS
* A Bronx man was arrested after assaulting a cop on a Jamaica street, authorities said yesterday.
Victor Clinton, 30, and five friends were blocking the path of pedestrians at the corner of Sutphin Boulevard and Archer Avenue at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday, sources said.
Cops on patrol approached to disperse the group, but Clinton allegedly took a boxer’s stance, challenged one officer to a fight and punched him in the chest, knocking him to the ground.
As other officers cuffed him, Clinton allegedly flailed his arms and kicked his feet.
He was charged with assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, said a spokesman for DA Richard Brown.
* Three bandits terrorized a female acquaintance and her 2-year-old son at gunpoint while burglarizing their South Ozone Park home, authorities said yesterday.
Angelo Johns, 26, Tony Johns, 24, and Steve Nicklas, 21, entered the 25-year-old woman’s 109th Avenue residence at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday and shoved her against a wall, sources said.
One of the suspects then allegedly put a gun to her head and demanded money, while his accomplices ransacked the kitchen, stealing cash from a drawer.
The woman’s young boy started crying, and the gunman put the gun to his head.
The three were later arrested and charged with burglary, robbery and endangering the welfare of a child, said Brown’s spokeswoman.
* Cops yesterday were searching for a bandit (above) who tried to rob a Ridgewood bank after making a bomb threat, police said yesterday.
The unidentified suspect walked into a Chase branch at Metropolitan Avenue and Starr Street at 10 a.m. last Jan. 4, cops said.
He handed a teller a bag he was carrying, demanded cash and said he had a bomb, police said.
When the teller did not comply, the thief repeated his demand, but was again turned down. He fled empty-handed.
The suspect is described as 6 feet tall, in his 30s, and having a thin black mustache. He was last seen wearing a black ski hat and a tan jacket.
BROOKLYN
* A woman was arrested for trashing her ex-boyfriend’s rental car in Flatbush, authorities said yesterday.
The incident began at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, when the 25-year-old victim was sitting with a friend in the car at Church and Nostrand avenues, sources said.
Moments later, Fedelyne Petit-bois, 24, allegedly approached with a sharp object and stabbed the passenger-side tire.
She then struck the passenger-side window, ripped off the passenger-side mirror and dented the hood, sources said.
As Petit-bois fled, the victim followed her and called 911, sources say.
Police arrested Petit-bois, who was charged with criminal mischief.
* Two co-workers were arrested after attacking each other with a metal chain in their Canarsie workplace, authorities said yesterday.
Cesar Chamorro, 51, got into a heated argument with Sang Hong, 54, in their unidentified workplace on East 83rd Street and Foster Avenue at 3:35 a.m. Wednesday, sources said.
The dispute erupted over work equipment, and when Chamorro made a vulgar gesture, violence ensued, authorities said.
Chamorro claimed Hong whacked him in the head with a metal chain used for hauling pallets.
Hong said Chamorro slugged him in the face and threw a metal chain at him.
Hong said he then picked up the chain and tossed it back at Chamorro, hitting him in the head.
Police arrested the suspects, who were charged with assault, menacing and weapons possession.
STATEN ISLAND
* An off-duty sanitation worker was arrested on DWI charges after police saw him driving erratically in Arrochar, police said yesterday.
Jerome Rolle, whose age was not known, allegedly crisscrossed a double yellow line and ran a red light before he was stopped by police at Father Capodanno Boulevard near Guilford Street at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, sources said.
Police gave Rolle a Breathalyzer test, which he failed, sources said.
Authorities said Rolle had a prior DWI arrest, in 1997.
