A man was critically wounded by a knife-wielding assailant in Williamsburg.
Pedro Torres, 29, knifed the 24-year-old man, whose identity was withheld, three times in the torso at about 8:55 a.m. yesterday as the victim left a bar on Broadway and Keap Street, cops said.
Cops grabbed Torres nearby. The two had had a previous altercation, the details of which were not available, authorities said.
The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital.
A teenager was arrested for beating a man during a robbery in a Brownsville apartment building, authorities said yesterday.
Donell Cook, 16, was busted Thursday on charges of assault, menacing, petit larceny and robbery after the victim spotted him on the street, a spokesman for DA Charles Hynes said.
Cook and several accomplices followed the 53- year-old victim from a check-cashing store on Herzl Street and Lott Avenue to a nearby building at about 1 p.m. March 11, the sources said.
There, the thugs pummeled and kicked the victim and swiped his cellphone and $500.
The victim was released after treatment at Brookdale Hospital.
Police were still searching for Cook’s alleged cohorts.
A shoplifter was busted for stealing $12 worth of shoes and hitting a store manager in the Kings Plaza Mall, authorities said yesterday.
Jenelle Hunte, 18, allegedly stuffed the shoes into a shopping bag at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
She put the bag on a baby carriage and started wheeling the merchandise out of the store, cops said.
A worker saw the theft and alerted the manager, who confronted Hunte and told her to wait for security, cops said.
Hunte kept going as the manager pursued her – but suddenly stopped, punched him in the face and fled, according to authorities.
A cop saw the commotion and chased down Hunte, who was charged with assault, menacing and robbery.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
An apparently intoxicated city Correction officer was busted in Far Rockaway yesterday after police caught him with prescription medication he had no prescription for, cops said.
Off-duty officer Kenneth Shepherd, 54, was acting “loud and boisterous” when police nabbed him at 7:28 a.m. on Dinsmore Avenue and Nameoke street, sources said.
He was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Queens
Detectives nabbed a man who allegedly impersonated an NYPD tow-truck driver to pilfer cash from several people.
Michael Doctor, 48, was arrested Wednesday on charges of criminal impersonation, scheming to defraud and petit larceny, said a spokeswoman for DA Richard Brown.
From Jan. 30 to March 21, Doctor struck at least 10 times at businesses around the borough, authorities said.
According to police, Doctor usually entered a workplace wearing a blue NYPD turtleneck and a blue jacket with an NYPD patch on it. He would then tell a worker that he had towed a vehicle for the business owner and needed to be reimbursed for the fees, usually between $100 and $230, the sources said.
A thief has been arrested after mugging a woman on an Astoria street, authorities said yesterday.
Dior Jordan, 17, and two cohorts allegedly snatched the 48-year-old woman’s purse from her shoulder on 12th Street at about 5:34 p.m. March 26, sources said.
Cops witnessed the attack and chased the suspect. When caught, Jordan allegedly flailed his arms and legs in a failed attempt not to be cuffed.
A spokeswoman for DA Richard Brown said Jordan was charged with robbery and resisting arrest.
His accomplices are still at large. The victim was uninjured.
Staten Island
Four people were nabbed on drug charges after police executed a search warrant at their Stapleton apartment, authorities said yesterday.
Cops entered the living room of the Targee Street residence at about 9 p.m. Friday and found the suspects holding glass pipes containing crack residue, the sources said.
Police arrested Lester Williams, 34, Ruth Wade, 62, Dorothy Sears, 30, and Magalyne Sears, 53.
