Queens A teen fired a shot at cops on a South Jamaica street, police said yesterday.
The incident began at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, when Troy Smith, 17, got into an argument with a man on 122nd Avenue and Sutphin Boulevard, cops said.
The two began shooting at each other, authorities said.
Police on patrol came upon the gunplay and Smith allegedly shot at the officers.
The cops fired back and quickly grabbed Smith, who was charged with attempted murder.
No one was wounded.
A youth was arrested for slashing a friend during an argument outside the victim’s Far Rockaway home, authorities said yesterday.
Romaine Henry, 16, allegedly used a razor to slice his pal’s head in the driveway of the victim’s Caffrey Avenue residence at about 5:30 p.m. on July 19.
Henry was arrested on charges of assault and weapon possession, according to a spokesman for District Attorney Richard Brown.
The victim needed 15 staples to close his wound at St. Johns Episcopal Hospital.
Brooklyn A gun-wielding assailant wounded a young man in a barrage of gunfire near a Bedford-Stuyvesant housing project, police sources said yesterday.
The attack began at 11:58 p.m. Thursday, when the 22-year-old victim showed up at the back of the Stuyvesant Gardens complex on Quincy Street to hang out with friends.
Moments later, a gunman sprayed about 20 bullets, hitting the victim in the right thigh as witnesses ran for cover.
The shooter fled on foot.
The victim was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
A deranged man was arrested after attacking a woman during an argument over food in a Boerum Hill facility for the emotionally disturbed, authorities said yesterday.
Carlton Reed, 49, asked the victim, a 46-year-old food server in the State Street facility, for a bigger breakfast portion last Thursday morning, sources said.
The woman told Reed to wait to see if there was enough food for everyone. Reed then yelled at her, cops said.
A counselor quickly escorted the woman to the kitchen and locked the door, fearing that she would be attacked.
Reed then allegedly broke down the door, pummeled the woman, and held a butter knife to her neck. Police were called and arrested Reed, who was charged with assault, menacing and criminal mischief.
The victim was not seriously injured.
Police busted a man for criminal mischief after he caused about $1,300 in damage to his estranged wife’s vehicle in Greenpoint, authorities said yesterday.
Iroslaw Olejniczak, 41, allegedly poured sugar into the gas tank of the victim’s automobile, which was parked across the street from her Driggs Avenue home, on July 13.
Police say Olejniczak fled, but was tracked down by cops last Thursday.
He also was charged with criminal contempt because the victim has an order of protection against him, cops said.
Manhattan A woman was arrested for nearly biting off another woman’s ear on a Washington Heights street, authorities said yesterday.
Stephany Almonte, 21, allegedly bit her 23-year-old victim at West 172nd Street and Amsterdam Avenue at 11:50 p.m. last Wednesday.
Police caught Almonte Nearby, and she was charged with assault.
The victim was treated at Montefiore Hospital in The Bronx.
Police busted a thief who stole a Jeep in East Harlem, authorities said yesterday.
Mark Rampersaud, 39, allegedly ripped off the 2006 Jeep Liberty on East 99th Street near Third Avenue at 4 p.m. last Wednesday after the owner had lost the keys.
Rampersaud was grabbed on Park Avenue at East 94th Street and charged with grand larceny.
