Manhattan The bank robber pictured above held up a Washington Mutual branch at Broadway and 92nd Street at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, police said yesterday.
He slipped a teller a demand note and fled with cash.
A man raped a woman whom he had been dating casually and held her captive in a Morningside Heights apartment, authorities said yesterday.
Kerri Roberts, 24, lured the woman to an acquaintance’s Columbus Avenue apartment at 3:20 a.m. on Aug. 18, sources said.
After they watched a movie, Roberts allegedly refused to let her leave. He slammed a door shut and said, “You’re not leaving until we have sex,” cops said.
She tried to escape, but Roberts allegedly grabbed, choked and raped her, sources said.
The woman finally escaped and notified cops.
Roberts was arrested Monday and charged with rape, unlawful imprisonment and assault, a spokesman for the DA’s Office said.
Two thugs beat an acquaintance after abducting her and her 4-year-old nephew in Washington Heights, police sources said yesterday.
José Anglero, 31, and Nisaly Solano, 24, grabbed the 28-year-old woman outside her workplace near Amsterdam Avenue and West 188th Street at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, sources said. They allegedly dragged the woman by the hair and shoved her inside a vehicle along with her nephew.
The suspects drove the victims to an unknown location, where they slapped, kicked and punched the woman, cops said.
Both the woman and the child, who was not hurt, escaped.
The suspects were arrested the following day and charged with kidnapping and assault. Police did not disclose a motive.
A burglar who ripped off coffee beans from a Starbucks was nabbed after a company security official spotted the suspect selling the stolen items in Midtown, authorities said yesterday.
Frank Palma, 46, broke into the shop on Broadway near Chambers Street at about 5 a.m. last Saturday, sources said.
He allegedly pilfered $5,250 worth of coffee beans and brewing machines.
A Starbucks security director reviewed a surveillance tape, which caught Palma in the act, sources said.
Two days later, the security official spotted Palma allegedly selling the beans on West 33rd Street and Eighth Avenue.
A spokesman for the DA’s office said Palma was charged with burglary and grand larceny.
Police arrested a thief who made nearly $50,000 in purchases with two stolen credit cards, authorities said yesterday.
Jermaine Hall, 25, began his spending spree on Oct. 9 at a Tourneau store in White Plains, Westchester, where he bought a $30,000 watch with a stolen American Express card, sources said.
Three days later, he used another stolen card to buy $11,000 worth of merchandise from CompUSA and Circuit City in Manhattan.
Then he allegedly purchased about $8,075 in furniture in Brooklyn using one of the cards.
Police traced the transactions to Hall, who was arrested Tuesday and charged with grand larceny, a DA spokesman said.
Brooklyn Two security guards nabbed a shoplifter who then threatened them with a razor blade in a Bushwick store, authorities said yesterday.
The guards spotted Malik Wright, 36, stuffing tubes of toothpaste into his pocket in the 99 Cent store on Myrtle Avenue near Broadway at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, sources said.
As Wright walked past the registers without paying, the guards stopped him. He allegedly pulled the razor out of his pocket and menaced the employees.
A guard disarmed Wright and held him until police arrived.
A spokesman for the Brooklyn DA’s Office said Wright was charged with menacing and attempted robbery.
A pervert was arrested for molesting an administrator of a drug- and alcohol-recovery facility in Flatbush, authorities said yesterday.
William Hyman, 38, allegedly came up behind the 40-year-old woman in the kitchen of the facility on Bedford Avenue at 9:15 p.m. on Aug. 5.
He allegedly began fondling her but stopped and departed when she screamed
The woman alerted cops, and Hyman was busted Wednesday and charged with forcible touching, sexual abuse and harassment.
Staten Island A man terrorized his ex-girlfriend after stealing two cable-TV boxes and jewelry from her Westerleigh home, authorities said yesterday.
Josue Robles, 37, broke into the 28-year-old woman’s Manor Road apartment at 3 p.m. on July 13, sources said.
He stole property and fled, authorities said. She reported the theft that day.
Between July 27 and last Friday, Robles allegedly left voice messages on her cellphone threatening to kill her.
Last Saturday, her house went up in flames. Authorities are investigating whether Robles was responsible, sources said.
Police grabbed Robles on Monday. He was slapped with a variety of charges including burglary and aggravated harassment, said a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.
Police are looking for a bandit who walked into a gas station on Richmond Avenue at Victory Boulevard in Graniteville at around 1 a.m. on Aug. 10, brandished a knife and demanded cash. He fled with an unknown amount of money.
He’s white, between 55 and 65, 160 pounds, 5-9, with a white mustache. He was wearing a Mets cap.
