Manhattan Police yesterday were searching for a middle-aged man who disappeared from an Upper West Side assisted-living facility.
Albert Tarlow , 56, was last seen at the building on West 87th Street near Columbus Avenue at around 2:30 p.m. Oct. 6, cops said.
The 5-foot-8, 200-pound Albert was wearing a short-sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
A man who had been drinking smashed another man in the head with a bottle on a Greenwich Village street, authorities said yesterday.
Steven Werner, 40, allegedly attacked the man at Waverly Place and Broadway at around 4:50 p.m. Sunday.
The victim, who was bleeding from a cut to his ear, flagged down a police officer responding to another call.
The cop arrested Werner, who was charged with second-degree assault, said a spokeswoman for the Manhattan district attorney.
Two women went on a shoplifting spree that ended with a dramatic car wreck outside the Manhattan DA’s Office, authorities said yesterday.
Police saw Senethia Williams, 25, and Tiffany Williams, 20, sitting in a Nissan on Broadway near Prince Street at about 4 p.m. Monday and lining large handbags with aluminum foil to prevent sensor detection in stores, sources said.
As cops watched from a distance, the pair allegedly filled the bags with clothes from several stores in the area, including Express, Zara’s, and H&M.
They allegedly put the bags into the car and drove away.
When the cops tried to pull them over, Tiffany Williams, who was driving, swerved and struck an officer on the street, inflicting minor injuries, cops said.
Senethia Williams then jumped out of the car as it careened down Lafayette Street, cops said.
The Nissan wound up slamming into several parked vehicles outside the DA’s office at 1 Hogan Place.
The DA’s spokeswoman said both women were quickly cuffed and charged with grand larceny, assault and possession of stolen property.
It was unclear if the two are related.
Brooklyn A gun-wielding teenager was arrested for shooting a man in the leg after snatching his cellphone at a Brownsville housing project, authorities said yesterday.
Richard Coleman, 18, accosted the 20-year-old in a park at the Van Dyke Houses on Dumont Avenue near Mother Gaston Boulevard at 10 p.m. Oct. 3, sources said.
Coleman allegedly pressed a .22-caliber revolver to Coleman’s chest and swiped his phone.
As they struggled, Coleman allegedly pummeled the victim and shot him in the left thigh.
The victim was released after treatment at Brookdale Hospital.
Coleman was arrested Wednesday on assault and robbery charges after the victim ID’d him in a photo array.
Two men engaging in a sex act in Sunset Park were arrested after struggling with cops, who found marijuana on one of the suspects, authorities said yesterday.
Cops on foot patrol spotted Scott Sammut, 48, and Bo Bao, 52, having oral sex under a tree in plain view of many parkgoers at Sixth Avenue and 44th Street at around 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, sources said.
When the pair saw the cops, they tried to run away, but the officers grabbed them, sources said.
Both men allegedly flailed their arms while being cuffed.
Police said they recovered 21 bags of marijuana from Sammut.
A spokesman for the Brooklyn DA’s Office said the suspects were charged with public lewdness, resisting arrest and marijuana possession.
Police yesterday identified a man who died after being shot on a Brownsville street.
Tony Jones, 33, was shot several times in the back near Saratoga Avenue and Halsey Street at around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
He was rushed to Woodhull Hospital, where he died.
The shooter fled.
Staten Island A drunken motorist was arrested after crashing into several parked vehicles in Mariners Harbor, authorities said yesterday.
Wendell Rivera, 45, was driving a 1999 Chevy Caravan on Morningstar Road near Richmond Terrace at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, when he allegedly sideswiped two parked vehicles and kept going.
After two witnesses called 911, cops grabbed Rivera, who had been detained by an off-duty correction officer, sources said.
Rivera was given a Breathalyzer test and blew more than two times the legal limit, authorities said.
A spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan said Rivera was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
A graffiti vandal was arrested for spray-painting property on at least two occasions, authorities said yesterday.
James Marsh, 17, first struck at Vicky’s Deli, at 950 Richmond Ave. in Graniteville, just after midnight Sept. 28, sources said.
He allegedly sprayed a wall and an ice box.
He struck again at midnight Oct. 2 in the back of PS 22, at 1860 Forest Ave., where he sprayed a Dumpster, sources said.
It was unclear how cops tracked him down, but Marsh was arrested Wednesday and charged with making graffiti.
