A patron at a Greenpoint fast-food restaurant smashed a glass display case and a beer bottle as an argument got out of hand, cops said yesterday.
James Maldonado, 27, exchanged angry words with several people at the McDonald’s at Manhattan and Greenpoint avenues at 11:50 p.m. Sunday, sources said, then smashed the glass and fled.
The McDonald’s manager called police, who arrested Maldonado when he returned to the scene.
He was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
A heartless teenager urinated on a homeless woman aboard a subway train, authorities said yesterday.
Michael Key, 17, spewed nasty remarks at the woman aboard a Brooklyn-bound A train at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, cops said.
Then he sprayed her with some sort of scented water and urinated on her, sources said.
Another passenger allegedly confronted Key, who got violent and gave him a bloody mouth and nose, cops said.
The injured man alerted a cop at the Jay Street station.
Key was charged with urinating in public, assault, menacing and public lewdness.
Police tracked down a thief who stole a TV and a radio from his sister’s roommate in Williamsburg, authorities said yesterday.
Suspect Sean Bussey, 40, was periodically staying with his sister and her female roommate in the women’s Bushwick Avenue apartment near Boerum Street, sources said.
Between 1 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 26, while the victim was away, Bussey entered her bedroom and stole her property, the sources said.
Later, his sister found her roommate’s door ajar and the items missing.
Bussey was arrested Monday on charges of burglary and petit larceny.
MANHATTAN
A shoplifter was arrested for stealing $2,633 worth of gloves and scarves in a SoHo clothing store, authorities said yesterday.
Jorge Maldonado, 31, swiped 22 pairs of gloves and five scarves in Club Monaco on Prince and Wooster streets at 4 p.m. Sunday, cops said.
Several of the items had security sensors attached.
Maldonado allegedly stuffed them into a bag lined with metallic tape to prevent the security system from detecting the tags.
After Maldonado rushed from the store, he looked around suspiciously and caught the attention of undercover cops.
The officers approached, saw the stolen items and busted Maldonado, sources said.
A spokeswoman for the DA’s Office said Maldonado was charged with grand larceny, possession of burglar tools and possession of stolen property.
A construction worker was arrested for snatching $8,500 in jewelry from an East Village apartment, authorities said yesterday.
Steven Johnson, 39, entered the St. Marks Place apartment near Second Avenue while a fellow hardhat was doing work there at noon on Oct. 26, sources said.
Johnson allegedly swiped at least two bracelets and sold one of them.
Johnson was charged with burglary and grand larceny, the Manhattan DA’s Office said.
Cops nabbed a teenager for swiping a leather handbag in a lower Manhattan center for disabled people, police sources said yesterday.
Amanda Jackson, 19, grabbed her co-worker’s purse from a drawer in the office of Contemporary Guidance Services at Broadway and Whitehall Street at 2:45 p.m. on Sept. 21, sources said.
The pocketbook contained a black leather wallet, $560, an iPod, MetroCard and debit card.
Cops busted Jackson Sunday and charged her with grand larceny.
Police yesterday were searching for a gun-toting thief who has robbed six retail stores.
In each case, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound, hooded suspect struck up a conversation with the store manager before pulling a revolver.
The clean-shaven robber, in his 20s or 30s, forced the managers into an office, demanded money and fled with an unspecified amount of cash.
The thefts occurred between Oct. 15 and last Thursday at drugstores between Second and Fifth avenues, including Duane Reade, CVS and Rite Aid.
STATEN ISLAND
A shoplifter who stole eight perfume gift sets was nabbed by a security guard after an altercation in a West Brighton Duane Reade, authorities said yesterday.
The guard spotted Gregory Fonseca, 46, placing the items in two blue shopping bags in the store on Forest and Oakland avenues at 2:50 p.m. Monday, source said.
The guard confronted Fonseca and the two got into a brawl.
Despite suffering a hand injury, the guard was able to subdue Fonseca, who was charged with possession of stolen property and harassment, according to a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.
