MANHATTAN
A man was arrested for swiping $8,800 worth of chairs from an East Side commercial building, police sources said yesterday.
Maurice Drewitt, 44, allegedly stole 16 office chairs in the Regus Group Building at Madison Avenue and 39th Street at noon on Nov. 19.
Drewitt, who formerly worked in the building, was nabbed Saturday and charged with grand larceny.
Police captured a thief who stole a wallet from a Chinatown shopper, authorities said yesterday.
Lynn Vaughn, 42, approached the victim outside an electronics store on Canal Street near Mercer Street at 2:50 p.m. on Aug. 12, sources said.
When the victim put her bag on the ground, Vaughn allegedly reached inside, snatched her wallet and fled.
Vaughn then used the victim’s credit card to make purchases at several stores, sources said.
Police traced the purchases to Vaughn, who was arrested Monday on grand-larceny charges.
Two taxi passengers were busted for robbing and beating a cabby near the Lincoln Tunnel, authorities said yesterday.
Frederick Vero, 23, and Lawrence Badstein, 22, got into a cab at Ninth Avenue and 38th Street at 4 a.m. Sunday, cops said, and asked the driver to take them to New Jersey.
As the taxi headed toward the Lincoln Tunnel, the driver asked them for a specific destination, sparking a heated argument that led to the passengers punching the driver in the face and stealing his money, cops said.
Police arrested the suspects on robbery charges.
STATEN ISLAND
A drunken driver was arrested early yesterday after police pulled him over for a broken taillight, authorities said.
Robert Pulzone, 50, was driving along Bloomingdale Road near Woodrow Road in Bloomingdale at 2 a.m. when cops stopped his 2003 Kia Spectra, sources said.
Police smelled alcohol on Pulzone’s breath and gave him a Breathalyzer test, which showed he was more than three times over the legal limit, sources said.
A spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan said Pulzone was charged with DWI.
QUEENS
Police are searching for a thief who robbed a Forest Hills bank.
A suspect, wearing a black cap, black jacket and glasses, slipped a demand note to a teller in the Chase branch on Queens Boulevard near 67th Drive at 1:20 p.m. last Friday, cops said.
The teller complied and the robber fled on foot with an unspecified sum.
THE BRONX
Cops yesterday were looking for a mentally impaired man who disappeared in Mott Haven.
Juan Forrester, 68, an Alzheimer’s sufferer, was last seen on Brook Avenue near East 136th Street at 8 a.m. Sunday, police said.
The 5-foot-9, 180-pound man was dressed in a black coat, black shirt, gray slacks with a black belt and black shoes.
BROOKLYN
A patient was arrested for assaulting a physician’s assistant in a Bushwick hospital, authorities said yesterday.
Eric Burgos, 49, was waiting to see a doctor for an unknown condition at Wyckoff Hospital on Stockholm Street at 11:45 a.m. on Sept. 4, cops said.
Burgos asked the assistant how many patients were ahead of him and she replied “four,” sources said.
Suddenly he grabbed her hand and bent it and squeezed it, causing cuts and bruises, cops said.
Burgos then allegedly ripped in half a patient chart the victim was holding and fled.
The victim identified Burgos in a photo array and he was arrested Tuesday on assault charges.
A man was arrested in the stabbing death of a club-goer in Bay Ridge, authorities said yesterday.
Adrian Rondinelli, 22, argued with Richard Anthony, 23, on Fourth Avenue and 90th Street at 3:04 a.m. on Nov. 30 just after Anthony left the Shadows nightclub, sources said.
For unknown reasons the two men started brawling and Rondinelli repeatedly stabbed Anthony with a sharp object, police said.
Anthony was rushed to Lutheran Hospital, where he died Sunday.
Rondinelli was busted Tuesday on assault charges after a witness picked him out of a police photo array.
A man damaged his estranged wife’s car in East Flatbush as they argued over custody of their child, authorities said yesterday.
Nigel Thomas, 24, clashed with his 24-year-old wife outside his residence on Kingston Avenue and Maple Street after the woman drove there to pick up their child at 5:30 p.m. Monday, cops said.
Thomas allegedly grabbed a wooden stick and began smashing the vehicle, damaging the taillights, side-view mirrors and windshield.
He fled but surrendered Tuesday and was charged with menacing, harassment and weapon possession.
