A man who claimed he was armed with a bomb held up a bank near Columbus Circle yesterday, police said.
Thomas Callahan, 56, allegedly passed a note to a teller at the Capital One branch at 1745 Broadway at 3:10 p.m. yesterday demanding $10,000 and threatened to set off the device.
The teller activated an alarm and Callahan, who had no explosives, was busted minutes later in the lobby, cops said.
A transit worker apprehended a man posing as an MTA employee who flashed an agency shield in a bid to avoid paying his fare at a Lower East Side subway station, authorities said yesterday.
Fernando Diaz, 61, allegedly flashed the shield as he entered the station at Delancey and Essex streets at 9 p.m. last Wednesday.
Diaz allegedly told the transit worker he worked for the MTA, then admitted he didn’t, sources said. Diaz was busted on a charge of criminal impersonation.
Brooklyn
A man was charged yesterday with murdering an acquaintance in Carroll Gardens, police said.
The victim, Sanjeer Seekoomar, 34, was discovered by his landlord in his basement apartment on Carroll Street on March 25. A source said the suspect, Paul Norris, 32, knew the victim.
A man assaulted a fellow patron in a Crown Heights nightclub, authorities said yesterday.

Gabriel Dilly, 27, was dancing with his wife in the Caribbean City Club on Empire Boulevard near McKeever Place at 2:20 a.m. Monday when the other man, 28, grabbed the woman, cops said.
Dilly retreated for a moment, returned with friends and allegedly punched the grabby guy in the face several times, causing eye and nose injuries. Dilly was charged with assault.

A livery driver was arrested for groping a woman and swiping her purse outside her Brownsville home, authorities said yesterday.
Cabby Ramon Rodriguez, 47, dropped off the 26-year-old woman at her home at Glenmore Avenue and Hinsdale Street at 3:45 a.m. Saturday.
After she paid the $40 fare, she walked to her front door when she turned to see Rodriguez behind her, sources said. He allegedly ripped her shirt, fondled her and snatched her purse with $90 and two cellphones. He sped away in his car and made several calls using one of the phones, cops said.
Two days later, he was arrested and charged with assault, robbery and forcible touching.

Three thugs were rounded up after one opened fire at cops in Brownsville, police said yesterday.
O’Shea McGlown, 22, and John Crawford, 18, were allegedly smoking marijuana while hanging out with Terrell Foster, 16, near Herkimer Street and Eastern Parkway at 6:20 p.m. Monday.
Passing cops confronted the trio, sources said. Foster allegedly ran into a nearby building as cops gave chase. He suddenly turned, pulled a gun and fired a shot that missed his pursuers, police said.
Cops arrested the trio without firing a shot. Foster was charged with assault on a police officer and weapon possession.
Staten Island
A Stapleton bar patron was arrested for causing extensive damage after arguing with a bartender early yesterday, sources said.
Patrick Brown, 42, was drinking heavily at the Cargo Café on Bay Street at 2:30 a.m. when he began exchanging angry words with the barkeep, who finally demanded that he leave, cops said. Instead, Brown smashed several bottles, then hurled a barstool into the glass front door and fled, the sources said. The belligerent man was arrested a few blocks away with a crack pipe in his possession, police said. He was charged with criminal mischief and criminal possession of a controlled substance, authorities said.

A rapist was arrested after a tense standoff with cops at his Mariners Harbor home, law-enforcement sources said.
Leamon Hall, 31, was drinking at his Wright Avenue home with a 21-year-old friend early Monday when he forced himself upon her, police said. The woman broke free, locked herself in another room and called police.
When officers arrived, the alleged attacker locked himself in the home for nearly 4½ hours before surrenderingHall was charged with rape, according to a Donovan spokesman.
Queens
Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in St. Albans.
Cops discovered the 37-year-old man with several torso wounds on 112th Avenue near 196th Street a little before 10:30 p.m. Monday.
The victim, whose name was withheld pending family notification, was pronounced dead at Mary Immaculate Hospital.
DESPERATE HUNT FOR PERV
This is the creep police are hunting today in the knifepoint attempted rape of a 12-year-old girl in a hallway of her Washington Heights apartment building.
The outrageous violence took place in broad daylight Saturday, according to police. Authorities said the sicko followed the 12-year-old girl into her building near 174th Street just after 2 p.m., then got into the same elevator with her, police said.
When she got off on her floor, the perv followed her, according to cops. Suddenly, he pulled out a knife and forced the frightened child to take off her clothing. Before things got any worse, the pervert heard someone walking nearby, panicked and fled. The youngster was not harmed.
