* A Woodrow man was arrested for brutally assaulting his 8-year-old daughter because she didn’t understand something he was teaching her, authorities said yesterday.
Yong Teoh, 48, allegedly squeezed his daughter’s face in their Ellsworth Avenue home near Sinclair Avenue at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The victim jerked her head back, hitting it against a wall.
Teoh then grabbed her nose, twisting it, sources said.
The girl, who suffered facial bruises, went to school the next day, and a school official noticed her injuries and called police.
Teoh was busted Monday and charged with assault, a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan said.
* A man posing as an MTA employee was busted in Greenridge when he tried to board a city bus to get a free ride, authorities said yesterday.
Joseph Brown, 46, allegedly flashed an NYC Transit badge to a driver aboard the city bus at Arthur Kill Road and Richmond Avenue at 2 p.m. Monday, cops said.
When the driver asked for ID, Brown couldn’t produce any and was charged with criminal impersonation, Donovan’s spokesman said.
MANHATTAN
* A Greenwich Village resident was roughed up by four thieves who robbed him of his cash and cellphone, police sources said yesterday.
The 29-year-old victim was walking at West 11th Street and Seventh Avenue South at around 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, when four unidentified men accosted him from behind.
The suspects knocked him to the ground and tried to cover his eyes so he could not identify them.
One of the thieves said, “Give me your money or we’re going to punch you in the face.”
The victim handed over $180, a debit card and a cellphone.
* A disappointed thief groaned, “Oh, man,” when he demanded a large amount of cash from a teller who showed him a coin tray, police sources said yesterday.
The 5-foot-7, 170-pound suspect passed a note to the teller in a Thomas David bank on Third Avenue near East 64th Street at 12:15 p.m. Friday.
The note read, “Burglary, 100s, 50s, 20s.”
Instead of coughing up bundles of cash, the teller opened a drawer, and offered the coin tray.
The would-be crook fled empty-handed.
* An Upper East Side bank robber made off with thousands of dollars only to see it blow up in his face when a dye pack exploded, police sources said yesterday.
The crook slipped a threatening note and an envelope to a female teller in the HSBC bank on East 86th Street near Third Avenue at 3:10 p.m. Monday.
The missive stated, “Stuff the big envelope with 100s and 50s or everyone dies, including you and me. No sudden moves.”
The teller stuffed the envelope with more than $2,300 and a dye pack, and passed it back to the suspect, who dashed out a rear door.
Moments later, the dye pack exploded and the crook dropped the envelope, but managed to get away.
* Four muggers attacked a teenager on the Upper East Side, police sources said yesterday.
The assailants accosted the 17-year-old boy at First Avenue and East 92nd Street at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
One suspect bashed the teen in the head with a rock while the others pummeled him.
They then took his cellphone, wallet, MetroCard and $60 in cash, before fleeing.
* Police nabbed a thug who allegedly smashed a man in the face with a bottle in Midtown.
Tiron Singleton, 21, had an argument with the victim over marijuana at Seventh Avenue and West 48th Street at around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, sources said.
During the dispute, Singleton allegedly attacked the victim, causing facial cuts.
* A Brooklyn man has been arrested for beating a stranger in lower Manhattan earlier this month, police sources said yesterday.
Marquis Simmons, 29, of Crown Heights, slugged the 64-year-old victim in the face on William and John streets at 2:50 p.m. on Nov. 3, cops said.
The injured man, who suffered a broken jaw, notified police as Simmons ran away, sources said.
Simmons was tracked down Nov. 15 and charged with assault.
* A deranged man injured three cops after threatening pedestrians in Union Square, police sources said yesterday.
Gabriel Phipps, 29, shouted threats at pedestrians on East 15th Street and Union Square at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, cops said.
Phipps then shoved officers, who managed to cuff him, sources said.
As he was placed inside a patrol car, Phipps attacked the three officers and kicked out the back windows of the vehicle.
He was charged with assault, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
BROOKLYN
* A woman smashed her nephew with a chair during an argument in her Bushwick apartment, authorities said yesterday.
Linda Pringle-Goodson, 47, clashed with the 26-year-old man at Cornelia Street near Wilson Avenue at 6 p.m. Tuesday, cops said.
Pringle-Goodson allegedly picked up the chair and bashed the man over the head with it.
She was charged with assault.
