* An undercover narcotics detective shot a teen who tried to rob him amid a drug sale in Washington Heights, authorities said yesterday.
Anthony Roman, 18, allegedly arranged to meet the undercover at West 163rd Street and Broadway Thursday afternoon.
Roman sold an unspecified amount of cocaine to the detective, who in his drug user’s persona complained he was being shorted on the sale, police said. Roman then pulled a .38 revolver and demanded the detective’s cash, cops said.
In the ensuing gunplay, the detective shot the teen in the neck, arm and torso, sources said.
Roman was arrested and taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Staten Island
* A motorist was busted for DWI in New Brighton, authorities said.
Modesto Rivera, 26, was pulled over for allegedly driving erratically in a 1994 Honda at Brighton and Webster avenues Thursday night, cops said.
He had alcohol on his breath, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, said police, adding that he failed a Breathalyzer, said to a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.
* A New Dorp couple was busted with 10 pounds of pot in their home when cops executed a search warrant Wednesday, police said.
Joseph Dantuono, 43, and Nicole Fusilli, 33, had six bags of pot in a duffel bag in their Topping Street residence, authorities said.
* A confrontation led to a hammer attack and an arrest in Graniteville, police said.
Bobbylee Ruiz, 25, allegedly confronted the victim at Forest Avenue and Maple Parkway on Dec. 19.
Ruiz accused the man of robbing him and then hit him several times with the weapon, cops said. Ruiz was arrested Thursday.
Brooklyn
* A department-store employee was caught using a customer’s credit card to purchase more than $2,000 worth of gift cards, police said.
Lancelot Mitchell, 18, a sales associate at Macy’s on Fulton Street near Bridge Street, used a customer’s store credit card on Dec. 21 to purchase gift cards, sources said.
Mitchell used his employee- discount code while making the purchases, enabling store security to link him to the alleged scam.
He was questioned and signed a statement admitting to the theft, then fled the store before police arrived, sources said.
In July he had been arrested after he tried to sell a .380 handgun to an undercover cop, sources said.
Police were waiting yesterday when Mitchell showed up at Brooklyn Supreme Court for a hearing on the weapons charge.
He was arrested for the Macy’s crime, said a spokesman for DA Charles Hynes.
* A fight between elementary- school students in a Brownsville schoolyard turned ugly after a teen jumped in to defend his younger brother, police said.
Shaun McLaren, 17, stumbled upon a fistfight between his brother and an 11-year-old boy at PS 72 on Shepherd Avenue near Blake Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, sources said.
Shaun punched the younger boy in the face and knocked him to the ground, sources said.
The boy was kicked repeatedly in the head and back. A school security officer called cops.
The boy was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was treated for a concussion, authorities said.
McLaren was arrested Thursday.
* A man escaped with his life after he was beaten and robbed by an angry mob in Brownsville, police said.
Rashad “Deno” Wayne, 27, was allegedly among a group of nine thugs who attacked a 32-year-old man on Christopher Avenue near Glenmore Avenue shortly before 7 p.m. on Dec. 17, cops said.
The gang knocked him to the ground, punched and kicked him, sources said. One of the attackers shouted “shoot him, shoot him,” said sources, adding that another attacker warned, “Don’t kill him, people are watching.”
The thugs snatched his wallet and keys, police said.
One of the suspects, Jonathan Carrasquillo was arrested on Dec. 29.
On Thursday, cops spotted Wayne on a Brownsville street and arrested him. Both men were charged with assault, robbery and grand larceny, authorities said.
The Bronx
* Police are searching for two thieves who broke into a Hunts Point heavy-equipment business.
The men stole an undetermined sum of cash from Lift International Equipment at East 156th Street on Jan. 8.
One of the men appears to be in his 30s, and police do not have any better description of him or the other suspect.
