* The Brownsville cop who suffered a graze wound trying to help two officers arresting a gunman was released from the hospital yesterday.

Eight-year veteran Donald Macewen, 32, walked out of Jamaica Hospital in Queens as Mayor Bloomberg said at City Hall he was thankful the cop’s injuries were not fatal.

“I feel lucky today. I just got off the phone with his [Macewen’s] mother. God is with us,” Bloomberg said.

The violence began at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday when Anti Crime Unit cops saw Tony Glover, 21, with a 9 mm Ruger on East New York Avenue near Rockaway Avenue, police said.

During the ensuing chase, Glover, whose street name is “Tony Slaughter,” exchanged shots with one of the cops, but no one was hit, according to police.

Glover was arrested and charged with menacing and gun possession.

Several minutes later, Macewen was responding to a call to help the Anti Crime cops when an unidentified person fired a shot from a rooftop.

The bullet ricocheted off Macewen’s holstered gun and grazed his right side.

The suspect, whose motive was not known, fled. Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.

* The shooting of a 19-year-old man in a Gravesend bodega was sparked by an earlier dispute with his attacker, authorities said yesterday.

Jamel Fuller got into an argument with Dondi Cole, 34, about a half-hour before the June 9 shooting at Stillwell Avenue and Avenue W.

Fuller was hit in the stomach and taken to Lutheran Hospital. He was released June 21. Cole was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault.

* A 30-year-old disabled man who went missing from his Crown Heights home was found yesterday in Bath Beach.

Orlando Stellingburg, afflicted with Down syndrome, was reported missing after his sister discovered he had vanished from their residence on St. Johns Place near Rochester Avenue at around 4 a.m. Monday.

THE BRONX

* A teacher was charged with assault yesterday for allegedly hurling a tape dispenser across her Morris Heights classroom, striking a student in the nose, police said.

Vernice Tillery, 40, was arrested at CES 230 at 10:35 a.m. inside the school, after a nearly 2-month-long investigation, cops said.

Tillery allegedly lost her temper and threw a Scotch-tape dispenser across a room on May 19, hitting a 10-year-old boy – cutting his nose and bruising his cheek.

He went to Lincoln Hospital on his own for treatment of his injuries.

The Department of Education had no immediate comment. (s, lcf)

* Two brothers were shot – one fatally – yesterday after they got into an argument with two thugs at their Co-Op City home, police said.

Malachi Wong, 20, and his 18-year-old brother were entering their home on Co-Op City Boulevard near Bellamy Loop at 1:30 p.m. when the dispute began and the two unidentified men opened fire.

Both victims were hit in the back and taken to Jacobi Hospital. Malachi was pronounced dead. His brother, whose name was withheld, was in stable condition.

* Police yesterday identified an 18-year-old man shot dead on a Hunts Point street.

Damian Scott was hit in the back on Bryant Street and Spofford Avenue at around 2 p.m. Tuesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

* A 20-year-old man was shot in the buttocks at the same location and taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was in critical condition.

Police later arrested 19-year-old Ricardo Lebron and the Bronx DA’s Office charged him with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, reckless endangerment and assault. (s, lcf)

* A 23-year-old man was arrested yesterday for robbing another man at gunpoint on a Mott Haven street, authorities said.

Casseam Toxey accosted a man in his 20s on East 148th Street and Brook Avenue at 2 a.m., pulled a gun and demanded money, police said. The victim forked over a few dollars and some jewelry.

Cops responding to a 911 call chased Toxey into a nearby apartment building and apprehended him after he climbed out a second-floor window onto a fire escape, police said.

He was charged with robbery and criminal possession of stolen property.

QUEENS

* A Rikers Island correction officer has been charged with menacing his wife with a clothes iron at their Jamaica home, police said yesterday.

Maynard Highland, 43, was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. after he got into a dispute with his 35-year-old wife, Pamela.

A Correction Department spokesman said Highland has not been suspended, but his case is under review.

* The body of a 70-year-old man was found yesterday under the Hell’s Gate Bridge near Astoria, police said.

The body of Stelianos Kapasakis was discovered under the bridge at around 6:30 a.m.

The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
