A 31-year-old man was found fatally stabbed yesterday in Mott Haven.
Filfredo Romero was discovered in front of his home on Concord Avenue near East 147th Street just after 6 a.m. with three stab wounds to the stomach.
Stanley Torres, 27, a career criminal with a record of 40 arrests, was charged with murder, said a spokesman for DA Robert Johnson.
The two had been arguing over a woman, a source said.
Staten Island
This disability scam got exterminated.
A former state correction officer who collected nearly $50,000 in disability payments over three years was busted after an investigation revealed he was running a pest-control business, authorities said.
Haiim Spitz, 43, who worked at the Arthur Kill Correctional Facility, submitted a doctor’s note and went out on disability for supposed back injuries, officials said.
But after leaving his correction job, he allegedly owned and operated Hy Tech Pest Control and personally handled more than 70 jobs from August 2006 through August 2009, investigators said.
He was charged with grand larceny and fraud, said a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.

Violating an order of protection, a thug beat and robbed his ex-girlfriend in Port Richmond, authorities said.
Anthony Reynolds, 31, argued with his former gal pal at Jewett and Post avenues Wednesday at 2:15 p.m., just days after a judge issued the order of protection, cops said.
He allegedly pushed the woman to the ground and swiped her purse, which contained $1,600 in cash and other items, sources said.
Reynolds was charged with assault and grand larceny.
The victim suffered minor injuries.

The 18-year-old man pictured here is suspected of assaulting a cop in Far Rockaway, police said.
The officer was apprehending two women on unspecified charges on Beach Channel Drive Monday when Terrell Montgomery came out of nowhere and slugged him in the face, sources said.
The officer was treated for a concussion at Jamaica Hospital.
Cops say the sicko pictured above groped a young woman on a subway train in Astoria.
The pervert grabbed the buttocks of the 21-year-old woman on the E train at the Steinway Street station at 12:40 a.m. Saturday.
Before the pervert fled, the quick-thinking victim took cellphone pics of the man.

A bat-wielding party crasher was arrested after he threatened two Richmond Hill party-goers, police said.
“I can f–k up everyone in here,” Shastri Ramlao, 19, shouted at 11 p.m. Saturday before fleeing the house party on 101st Avenue, according to court records.
Ramlao returned 20 minutes later and menaced two people with a cricket bat, authorities said.
He was charged with weapon possession, menacing and harassment, said a spokeswoman for DA Richard Brown.
A gunman killed a 37-year-old man in Jamaica early yesterday.
Police responding to a 911 call found Damian Champbell on the ground with several gunshot wounds on 109th Avenue near 147th Street at 5:30 a.m.
Champbell, who had a long arrest record, died at Jamaica Hospital.
Brooklyn
A shoplifter banned from the Target store in Downtown Brooklyn was arrested for returning and raising a ruckus, authorities said.
Kenneth Hunt, 52, had been previously caught shoplifting from the department store at the Atlantic Center Mall at Flatbush and Atlantic avenues and had agreed not to return, sources said.
A security guard spotted him entering Wednesday and told him to leave, but he refused and began screaming.
A cop came by to apprehend Hunt, who after a brief struggle was cuffed and charged with trespassing and resisting arrest, said a spokesman for DA Charles Hynes.
