Police in Georgia arrested a man yesterday after he walked up to a cop and allegedly admitted that he killed his wife in her Longwood apartment last week.

Charges were pending against Sidney Benson, who allegedly stabbed Tyshi Benson, 37, in the bedroom of her Bruckner Boulevard apartment on Dec. 29.

The couple had two children, ages 5 and 10, who were in the apartment during the attack, but did not witness it.

Brooklyn

A man was slapped with misdemeanor assault charges after a single punch resulted in the death of a party crasher at a New Year’s bash in Fort Greene, cops said.

Michael Ketter, 51, showed up uninvited to a neighbor’s get-together in a fourth-floor apartment on Carlton Place at 10:30 p.m. Friday. Partygoer Angel Diaz, 26, told him he was not welcome and, when Ketter tried to push his way inside, Diaz allegedly punched him once in the face, causing him to fall and slam his head.

Ketter fractured his skull and died about an hour later at Brooklyn Hospital.

Crazed customers attacked two workers at a McDonald’s in Gravesend, authorities said.

Natasha Gayle, 28, and her boyfriend, Barry Morgan, 30, strolled into the fast-food joint on the aptly named McDonald Avenue near Avenue X at 10:30 p.m. Saturday and got into a fight with a female worker who they thought was looking funny at Gayle, sources said.

During the brawl, Morgan allegedly broke the $1,500 cash register and shattered a cookie jar. The couple then allegedly chased the woman to the back of the eatery and took her pocketbook.

When they tried to flee, a restaurant manager locked the door to prevent them from escaping. The brazen pair knocked another worker to the ground while kicking the original victim in the face, police said.

Responding officers arrested Gayle and Morgan on various charges, including assault.

A heated dispute turned violent when a knife-wielding man attacked his Bushwick roommate, authorities said.

Julio Sanchez, 35, allegedly broke the house rules when he returned home to Greene Avenue near Malcolm X Boulevard at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, authorities said.

The roommate reminded Sanchez that he had come in later than allowed, and Sanchez flipped out, allegedly grabbing him by the neck, yanking him out of his chair and hurling him into a table.

Sanchez then allegedly threatened him with a knife.

Responding police spotted the duo battling in the hallway and arrested Sanchez.

Staten Island

A man was busted for sodomizing a 5-year-old child on Christmas, authorities said.

Joseph Jackson, 38, unzipped his pants and forced the boy to engage in a sexual act in a residence on South Street near Broadway in West New Brighton, said a spokesman for DA Dan Donovan.

He was collared four days later in an unrelated case.

Arresting cops recovered five plastic bags of marijuana and eight clear plastic bags containing what appeared to be cocaine, according to the DA.

Jackson was then charged with criminal possession of controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. On Dec. 30, he was also charged with criminal sexual act, sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Prowlers pulled a holiday heist and swiped more than $10,000 from the Home Depot in Arlington, police sources said.

The thieves drilled a hole through the door of the home-improvement store on Forest Avenue near Morrow Street at about 4 a.m. Saturday.

They then used a saw to cut the door in half and snipped the alarm wires, successfully disabling the security system.

The intruders pried open two more doors, slipped into the vault room and raided the safe.

Manhattan

Thugs attacked a New Year’s partygoer outside a Midtown lounge, cop said yesterday.

The 23-year-old victim got into a scrap with a patron and his buddies at Club Covet on East 55th Street near Lexington Avenue at about 1 a.m. Saturday, cops said.

Security booted all of the men out and, once outside, the victim was slashed in the arm, shoulder and right hand.

The victim was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital with minor injuries.

Queens

An NYPD traffic enforcement agent was arrested and suspended yesterday for allegedly raping his girlfriend in a Queens home, police said.

Jainarine Chandick, 54, attacked his gal pal in the Jamaica residence at about 11 p.m. Sunday, cops said. The victim, who had an order of protection against Chandick, reported the violence the next day, cops said.

Chandick was charged with rape and criminal contempt.
