Seven suspected thugs allegedly beat a man with a baseball bat and robbed him in Kips Bay.

The 22-year-old victim told cops he was walking outside a public-housing development on East 28th Street near First Avenue at about midnight Jan. 8 when the gang surrounded him.

One hit him in the back of the head with a bat, knocking him to the ground, and the others punched and kicked him before taking his bracelet, ring, chain, watch and cellphone.

The victim walked into the 13th Precinct station house and reported the incident.

Three of the alleged attackers — Jordan Edgecombe, 19, Justin Edgecombe, 19, and Nicholas Morales, 22 — were arrested Thursday, sources said. It’s unclear if the Edgecombes are related.

Another two suspects — Max Lundt, 19 and Akeem White, 18 — also were busted last week. Cops yesterday were still hunting for at least two others.

Police believe the gang is responsible for several attacks in the area.

William Catalanotto, 44, was pacing outside his Honda, which he had parked and left running on the shoulder of the Van Wyck Expressway near Jewel Avenue at 6 p.m. Jan. 11, sources said.

When cops questioned him, Catalanotto told them that his friend, who was in the passenger seat, had just injected himself with heroin and was having a seizure, the sources said.

Catalanotto was babbling incoherently, and cops searched him and allegedly found four bags of heroin in his fist.

After a brief struggle, he was taken into custody. Medical assistance was summoned for the passenger.

Catalanotto was charged with assault and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, said a spokeswoman for DA Richard Brown.

Has a sophisticated Todt Hill prowler struck again?

An intruder forced open a basement door and slipped into a home on Romer Road near St. George Drive on Jan. 20, sources said.

The residents told cops that they had gone out for the evening and returned home at about 10:30 p.m. to find that a jewelry box in the master bedroom had been emptied.

The home did have an alarm system, but the intruder did not trip it, sources said.

Investigators suspect the same thief is behind a recent string of similar break-ins in the area, the sources said.
