The handyman for an East Flatbush boarding house was killed while trying to retrieve his tools, police sources said.
Shayne Sinclair, 40, was stabbed in the chest after arguing with a stranger just after 8:30 p.m. Friday in the home on East 51st Street near Avenue L, police said.
The Queens resident was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.

A 32-year-old drunk has been charged with assault for beating up the 55-year- old stepfather of his baby mama, sources said.
Earl Canady showed up plastered at the man’s St. Mark’s Avenue house, near Howard Avenue in Brownsville, at 11:35 p.m. on April 30 and demanded to see his son, sources said.
The victim refused, noting the man’s state and saying it was late and the boy had a cold, so an enraged Canady repeatedly punched him in the face and banged his head on the floor, causing him to pass out.
The victim received 75 stitches at Brookdale Hospital. Canady was arrested at work Thursday in The Bronx.
Staten Island

The man, identified by authorities as Marat Mikhaylich, 35, waltzed into the Capital One Bank on Forest Avenue near Barrett Avenue at 10 a.m. Friday.
Dressed in a black hat, sunglasses, a black jacket and dark pants and toting a black messenger bag, he flashed a gun, demanded cash and fled with an undisclosed amount.
Mikhaylich, whose spree began around the holidays, is also wanted for three Queens heists and a Brooklyn holdup, authorities said.
Bronx
A 39-year-old man was found stabbed in the neck yesterday in the Williamsbridge basement apartment neighbors said he used as a party pad.
He died at Jacobi Hospital. Neighbors at East 226th Street near Barnes Avenue told cops they heard a fight at about 4:40 a.m. in the apartment, which included a recording studio.

A 22-year-old man was held up at knifepoint on a Bronxwood street.
The mugger fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash from White Plains Road near Allerton Avenue at 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 21, cops said.
Manhattan
Three burglar wannabes posed as plumbing inspectors to gain entry to an elderly man’s Upper East Side apartment.
The trio knocked on the door in the East 85th Street building near First Avenue at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 22 and asked if they could check the piping.
The 82-year-old let them in, but they got spooked when he asked for ID, so they fled without taking anything.
