A suspected scam artist was busted for allegedly depositing a phony $60,000 check at a Chinatown bank.
Laquan Williams, 26, allegedly made out a check to himself from Rubyred Productions Avenue and cashed it in the TD Bank on Canal Street near the Bowery at 12:40 p.m. Jan. 7.
Cops tracked him down through surveillance video and arrested him Feb. 15.
He was charged with grand larceny, ID theft and criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Cops busted an alleged pimp for selling sexual services out of a Union Square massage parlor.
“It is $50 per person, plus a tip. A [sex act] is included in the price,” Stephen Pellegrino, 53, allegedly told an undercover cop when the officer showed up at the business on West 14th Street near Sixth Avenue at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Pellegrino was charged with promoting prostitution.
Brooklyn
A Sheepshead Bay man allegedly beat his roommate with a golf club as the victim was taking a shower.
Larry Davis, 54, allegedly attacked the 21-year-old victim in their apartment on Avenue W in the Nostrand Houses at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 16.
The victim’s thumb was sliced when he tried to grab the club. He was taken to Coney Island Hospital, and received three stitches.
Davis was arrested Monday and charged with attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police want to question a suspect in connection with a shooting that left a man critically wounded in Cypress Hills.
The 20-year-old victim was shot on Fulton Street near Norwood Avenue at 11:35 p.m. Sunday. He was struck in the head and the chest, and was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
The suspect was caught on video surveillance.
Staten Island
The NYPD has many specialized units, but baby sitting isn’t one of them.
A heartless couple tried to drop off their unruly 6-year-old daughter at the St. George station house, authorities said.
“I can’t take her anymore. She is uncontrollable,” Annette Gerhardt, 25, told cops Friday at 7 p.m. when she walked into the 120th Precinct station house on Richmond Terrace with her crying kid in tow, according to court papers.
“If you don’t take her, I will take her to the firehouse,” Gerhardt allegedly added.
The child’s father, Gerardo Santiago, 27, said the couple was trying to “scare her and teach her a lesson,” the criminal complaint states.
The two are charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
The little girl was placed in the custody of her grandparents.

A deranged druggie high on PCP went on a rampage through Park Hill, attacking two friends and an innocent bystander, authorities said.
Ruben Kirland, 40, had been smoking “angel dust” at 12:35 a.m. Friday when he flew into a hallucinogen-induced rage, whipped out a knife on Park Hill Avenue and stabbed an 18-year-old pal in the elbow and a 32-year-old companion in the back, according to court papers.
Also stabbed in the back was a 15-year-old high-school student who was walking nearby, sources said.
The victims were rushed to Richmond University Medical Center, where they received stitches for their various wounds.
Kirland is charged with attempted murder, assault and weapons possession.
Queens
A violent would-be car thief is behind bars after beating a woman in Jackson Heights, authorities said.
“Get the f – – k out,” Saviel Gonzalez, 19, barked at his victim, who was in a minivan on Broadway near 79th Street at 11 a.m. Feb. 13, according to court papers.
He allegedly tried to yank the victim out of the car, also punching her in the face and chest.
He fled after she refused to get out, but was later arrested.
“I’m sorry. I was taking the car to get home,” he admitted to cops, the court papers say.
He was charged with attempted robbery in the second degree.
