A teen gangbanger was chased down and captured moments after he shot and killed a rival gang member and wounded another in University Heights, cops said.
Shamal Coles, 17 allegedly opened fire on Creston Avenue near East 180th Street at 6 p.m. Tuesday, striking Dontae Murray, 16, in the chest and head and hitting Cleveland Smith, 22, on the right wrist.
Patrol cops heard the gunfire, saw Coles running and grabbed him several blocks away.
The victims, who have lengthy rap sheets, were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where Murray died.
Coles, who runs with the 280 Crew, told investigators he shot Murray and Smith, members of the Dub City Gang, in retaliation for them jumping him earlier in the evening, said police sources.

Two scuffling Rikers Island prisoners yesterday injured six correction officers who tried to separate them.
The combatants were subdued at 6 p.m. The officers were taken to New York Hospital Queens with minor injuries, authorities said.
Brooklyn
A man was killed yesterday when he jumped in front of a subway train in Bay Ridge, cops said.
A northbound R train struck the man at 5:30 a.m. as it was pulling into the 77th Street station, according to cops.
The man, whose identity wasn’t immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene. No criminality is suspected.

Father-and-son thugs assaulted a Midwood gas-station attendant who wouldn’t change a $20 bill, authorities said.
Samuel Grun, 21, showed up at the station on Ocean Avenue near Avenue O at 10:15 p.m. on March 28 and asked the employee to break a twenty, cops said.
The attendant said he couldn’t make change late at night unless Grun made a purchase.
The rebuffed man departed but returned moments later in a van with his 47-year-old father, Morris Zombek, cops added.
The duo allegedly punched the man and slammed him in the face with a baseball bat that was wrapped in wire.
Zombek fled but cops managed to arrest Grun, and the older man surrendered Monday.
The victim was treated at Coney Island Hospital.
Manhattan
A thief who broke into a box truck on the Upper East Side was nabbed moments after dropping the stolen loot as police chased him, authorities said.
Jason Parker, 36, allegedly grabbed a backpack from the truck on 70th Street near Madison Avenue at 10:30 a.m. Friday, according to court papers.
The owner of the truck spotted the bandit fleeing with the bag.
Parker allegedly dropped the bag nearby and was collared by cops, who reportedly found oxycodone pills in his pocket and on the ground.
He was charged with burglary, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Cops busted a man who allegedly attempted to pick up groceries purchased with a stolen credit card at a Financial District supermarket.
Last Saturday at 6 p.m., someone called Jubilee Market Place at 99 John St. and placed a $1,200 food order on an American Express Card.
A routine card check revealed it had been stolen, and police were waiting when Dion Thompson, 40, arrived to pick up the items, cops said.
Thompson allegedly gave officers a fake name, but a fingerprint database revealed his true identity, cops added.

A molester was busted for sexually attacking a woman on the Upper West Side, cops said.
Edulfo Aguirre, 38, allegedly followed the victim at 1:20 a.m. last Thursday as she was walking near 104th Street and Manhattan Avenue.
Suddenly he grabbed the victim from behind, pushed her up against a fence and fondled her, cops said.
He was collared less than 20 minutes later.
Staten Island
Police yesterday charged a Willowbrook man with murder, a day after his wife was found strangled in their bedroom, officials said.
After a citywide search, Arthur Rubin, 64, surrendered Tuesday at the 122nd Precinct to detectives investigating the death of his wife, Eva, 63, in their home on Crafton Avenue.

A New Brighton man scammed the state out of more than $3,000 in jobless benefits, authorities said.
Between December 2008 and February 2009, Oliver Perry, 61, collected financial assistance despite being employed as the director of youth services at a Bronx senior-citizens center, court papers state. He was arrested Tuesday.
Queens
A violent thief swiped a woman’s cellphone in Rochdale Village, cops said.
David Hitt, 17, allegedly struck the woman on the head on Bedell Street near 127th Avenue at 11 a.m. on March 10 and snatched the phone from her hand, according to court papers.
The punk was arrested on April 6 and allegedly confessed to the robbery.
