MANHATTAN (s, lcf)
* This is an NYPD sketch of the person suspected of shoving a 34-year-old man onto the subway tracks into the path of an oncoming No. 5 train at Union Square a week ago. The victim was injured but survived.
Police describe the suspect as in his 30s with dirty blond hair, about 200 pounds, 5-foot-7 to -10.
* Two cops nabbed a suspect yesterday after he allegedly stabbed and seriously injured an Upper East Side newsstand operator.
The incident unfolded at 2:57 a.m. when Timothy Pauls, 46, brandished a knife in a bid to rob Mohammed Rahman, 41, inside the newsstand at 201 East 59th St., police said.
During the scuffle, Pauls, of Third Avenue in The Bronx, allegedly stabbed Rahman, of Queens, several times before fleeing empty-handed.
A police source said pedestrians pursued the suspect, but lost him. But Police Officer Prasanth Kurian and Sgt. Michael McHugh later arrested him at 60th Street and Second Avenue.
Rahman was in serious but stable condition at New York Hospital.
Pauls was charged with assault, robbery and weapons possession.
THE BRONX
* A brother and sister were shot in a Soundview building yesterday evening, law-enforcement sources said.
Gunshots rang out at 1755 Bruckner Boulevard shortly before 6 p.m., striking a 39-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, cops said.
The man died at the scene, while the woman – who sources say is from upstate Rochester – was taken to Lincoln Hospital where she was listed in serious condition, authorities said. (s, lcf)
* A 23-year-old man was arrested yesterday for hitting his girlfriend with a broomstick in a Longwood apartment building, authorities said.
Martin Alamo struck Maria Ortez, 17, for unknown reasons in the building on East 163rd Street near Kelly Street at 7:30 p.m. Monday, cops said. After his girlfriend filed a police report, Alamo walked into the 41st Precinct station house yesterday and surrendered to police. He was charged with assault.
* A 19-year-old man was found stabbed to death yesterday in his Wakefield apartment, police said.
The body of Kirk Evans was discovered in bed and covered by a sheet in his residence at East 232nd Street near White Plains Road at 12:30 a.m.
Sources said he had been stabbed in the stomach and wrists. (m)
BROOKLYN
* Someone released pepper spray yesterday on a Manhattan-bound F train, delaying service for 20 minutes and sending straphangers into a panic.
The incident happened on the packed car around 4 p.m. near the Bergen Street station.

* Two men sitting in a car in Sunset Park were shot and seriously wounded yesterday, police said.
The victims, ages 22 and 26, were in a tan Toyota Camry at the corner of 56th Street and 9th Avenue at 4 a.m. when they were shot multiple times.
They were taken to Lutheran Hospital.
* Police yesterday identified a 33-year-old man shot and killed behind a homeless shelter in Greenpoint Tuesday night.
Antwyne Dunn was arguing with two acquaintances, a man and a woman in her 20s, at Skillman Avenue and Olive Street at 9 p.m. when he was blasted three times in the chest.
Dunn was taken to Woodhull Hospital, where he died.
* A 51-year-old man shot three times on an Brownsville street has died from his injuries, police said yesterday.
In the Aug. 2 incident, Donald Williams got into an argument with William Anthony, 54, on Chauncey Street near Rockaway Avenue at 7:30 p.m.
Sources said Anthony drew a .357-caliber handgun and shot Williams in the chest and legs.
Williams was taken to Brooklyn Hospital, where he died on Thursday.
Anthony was arrested and initially charged with attempted murder, assault and gun possession. (m)
QUEENS
* A 23-year-old man behind the wheel of a car was shot four times and killed before the vehicle crashed yesterday in East Elmhurst, cops said.
William Pack was driving at the corner of 115th Street and Northern Boulevard at 1:30 a.m. when one or more assailants opened fire and fled.
Pack was taken to New York Hospital of Queens, where he died.
* An NYPD employee has been suspended for failing to tell her supervisor she was arrested on marijuana charges in Saint Albans, authorities said yesterday.
Cynthia Hayes, assigned to the Communications section, was suspended at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the wake of being busted by police at 114th Avenue and 177th Street on Aug. 12.
STATEN ISLAND
* A Grymes Hill man was arrested yesterday for shooting and seriously wounding a 32-year-old man last month, cops said.
On July 29, Rashien Williams, 28, pulled a gun and shot the man twice in the torso on Gordon Street near Broad Street at 4 p.m., police said. Williams was charged with assault and gun possession.
* A 23-year-old man has been arrested for swiping a woman’s pocketbook on a Westerleigh street, authorities said yesterday.
On Aug. 8, John Edmonds accosted the woman on Westcott Boulevard and Coale Avenue at 1 a.m., pushed her and demanded she not scream, cops said. He then stole her pocketbook containing $3, a wallet and a credit card, then fled on his bicycle, said police.
He was arrested Monday by police and charged with robbery and grand larceny.
* A 30-year old man was arrested in Annadale after he sold a stolen ring and was caught with illegal drugs in separate incidents, authorities said yesterday.
Vincent Madonna sold the ring to the owner of a jewelry store at 2566 Richmond Ave. on Monday, cops said. The next day, cops spotted Madonna with seven bags of phencyclidine.
The Staten Island DA’s Office charged him with criminal possession of stolen property, drug possession and resisting arrest.
* A 16-year-old male has been charged with burglarizing a Tottenville store and damaging property, authorities said yesterday.
Last Thursday, Michael Campana broke a side-door to enter the store on Amboy Road and Yetman Avenue at 11 p.m., and then stole money, candy and lottery tickets before fleeing, cops said.
He was arrested at 7 p.m. Monday and charged with burglary, criminal mischief and criminal possession of stolen property.
* Narcotics cops busted a drug suspect after finding him with cocaine and marijuana in a Livingston apartment, authorities said yesterday.
Cleavon Jacobs, 33, was arrested Monday and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Police executed a search warrant at the residence at 778 Henderson Ave. and discovered a half-ounce of cocaine, two ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. (m)
