The president of a SoHo building’s tenant association stole $97,000 from the organization to fund shopping sprees and a Florida vacation, according to the city Department of Investigation.
Renee Hernandez, 52, allegedly raided the finances of the 244-46 Elizabeth Street Tenants Association to make purchases at Kmart, Victoria’s Secret and Bloomingdale’s, as well as fund a trip to Fort Lauderdale.
She was arrested Monday and charged with grand larceny.

A career petty crook was caught red-handed after he broke into lockers at a Midtown health club, cops said.
Donald Chisolm, 50, of New Jersey, was nailed on May 5 after he allegedly swiped $716 in cash from two lockers at the Bally’s at 55th Street and Madison Avenue and a manager recognized him from a wanted photo.
Chisolm, who has six prior arrests for gym-locker break-ins, was a member of the club, cops said.
When the break-ins began, officers from the Midtown North Precinct immediately suspected Chisolm and notified club management, cops added.
He was charged with petit larceny and possession of burglars’ tools.

A would-be bank thief (top picture) tried to knock off a Midtown branch, cops said.
He confronted a staffer opening the front door to the Bank of America branch at Madison Avenue and 43rd Street at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, cops said.
He forced her inside and demanded money but lost his nerve when she stalled, so he fled.
Brooklyn
A man fatally stabbed his brother-in-law in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, cops said.
Cecilio Lopez, 37, allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed José Aceituno, 22, in the torso and arm Wednesday at 6 p.m. in an apartment on Bedford Avenue.
Aceituno died at Kings County Hospital, and Lopez was arrested on charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Two teens brutally beat a middle-aged man unconscious aboard a bus in a botched robbery attempt in Flatbush, authorities said.
Dhaute Richardson, 17, and Treston Mitchell, 16, allegedly targeted the 58-year-old on the bus at Flatbush and Church avenues at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday.
Richardson patted the victim down in a search for valuables and then bashed him over the head with an object, knocking him out, cops said.
The duo tried to drag the victim off the bus but fled after a passenger yelled at them, cops added.
The suspects were nabbed nearby and charged with assault, attempted kidnapping and attempted robbery.

A Bath Beach pawn-shop employee foiled a robbery yesterday despite being zapped by the thugs’ Taser, cops said.
The two hoodlums barged into the jewelry store, on 86th Street near 20th Avenue, at 10:45 a.m. and shocked the worker with the electrically charged weapon.
The employee still managed to fight off the thieves, who fled empty-handed.
The victim was treated at Maimonides Hospital and released.
Bronx

He slipped in through the window of a basement residence on Powell Avenue near Olmstead Avenue at 8:30 p.m. on May 7 and swiped jewelry and a CD player, police said.
Staten Island
Cops collared a New Brighton man who stole his boss’ work van and tools last summer, authorities said.
Michael Amistead, 47, was employed with Air Excel Service, an air-conditioning company, when he disappeared last June 2 with the company’s 2008 white Chevy van, filled with tools, including a drill, a vacuum pump, a ladder and a hydraulic-punch kit, according to court papers.
He was tracked down Wednesday and charged with grand larceny and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
