A 72-year-old tourist bound for a Bermuda cruise with his wife vanished in lower Manhattan yesterday, just hours before the couple’s big trip.

Cops are asking for the public’s help in locating John Stapleton, of Ottawa, Canada, who they said has memory problems.

He was last seen when his tour bus stopped at the World Financial Center at around 11 a.m.

A mugger who gets potential victims’ attention by accusing them of assaulting his niece is believed to have struck 16 times in Manhattan and Brooklyn, most recently in Chelsea.

He sports several tattoos — including “I love sex” on one of his hands.

In his latest strike, he flashed a gun at a 19-year-old man and snatched his gold necklace at about 4:20 p.m. Sept. 19 on West 24th Street near Seventh Avenue.

A 17-year-old boy was shot dead in the East Village yesterday.

Donovan Salgado took a bullet in the stomach at about 1:50 a.m. on East 12th Street near Avenue C.

He died at Bellevue Hospital about seven hours later.

A woman last night fought off a creep who punched her and tried to sexually assault her in Laurelton, cops said.

The 23-year-old victim was on Edgewood Avenue at around 7:20 p.m. when the thug attacked her and knocked her to the ground. But the victim kept resisting and the perv finally fled.

She was taken to an area hospital. Her condition was not immediately known.

A New Brighton teen was charged Friday with fracturing a baby’s skull after allegedly slamming his girlfriend’s 13-month-old son into a bedroom wall in their home, authorities said.

Joshua Guzman, 18, was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

The baby was in serious condition last nightl.

Two thugs held up a 35-year-old food deliveryman at gunpoint in Dyker Heights, authorities said.

He had just arrived at 77th Street near 12th Avenue at about 10 p.m. Tuesday when the two men pulled up in a gray Nissan sedan and one asked, “Are you the delivery guy?”

In short order, the other man got out, grabbed him from behind in a chokehold and shoved a black gun into his side, cops said.

They allegedly swiped the grub, his cellphone and credit cards and $300.

Two women propositioned a man and then robbed him at knifepoint after he said, “No, thanks,” authorities said.

Linda Cochrane and Anna Delossantos, both 34, sashayed up to the 29-year-old mark on Myrtle Avenue in Bed-Stuy at 4:50 a.m. Monday and asked if he wanted sex, cops said.

When he declined, Cochrane allegedly put the knife to his neck and demanded his money.

He claimed not to have any, so the women rifled through his pockets and grabbed an unspecified amount of cash before fleeing, cops said. They didn’t get far, however, before cops caught up with them.

A gun-toting thug was arrested for the murder of a Canarsie man with whom he’d been feuding, authorities said.

Kevin Burgess, 26, and an accomplice allegedly confronted Michael Daley, 33, and a 41-year-old friend at 3:20 p.m. on Aug. 31 outside Daley’s East 78th Street home.

They tried to snatch a chain from his neck, but Daley put up a struggle, so they shot him in the chest and his friend in the arm and groin, cops said.

The friend survived.

Burgess was charged with murder and robbery.

A member of a four-man team of thieves was caught after stealing gym clothes in Park Slope, cops said.

Michael Allen, 22, and three accomplices walked into a Fifth Avenue sportswear shop on Wednesday and allegedly walked out with unpaid-for merchandise. The other three were still at large last night.
