A man with a lengthy rap sheet was stabbed to death in a Harlem apartment building, police said yesterday.

Christopher James, 37, was found at 9:35 p.m. Monday bleeding profusely from a knife wound at 119 W. 137th St.

He was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital.

His girlfriend, Emma Cornelius, 28, was arrested and charged with manslaughter, cops said.

The victim’s criminal record includes arrests for weapons, stolen property and drugs.

A dapper bank robber knocked off an HSBC branch yesterday in Murray Hill, cops said.

The suspect, nattily dressed in a navy blue suit, passed a demand note to a teller at the branch on Park Avenue near 33rd Street at 1:35 p.m., cops said.

He fled with an undisclosed sum of cash.

A prowler who burglarized an apartment in East Harlem over the summer was apprehended this month, authorities said.

A resident found Fernando Basby, 45, rummaging through a closet in the apartment on East 101st Street near Third Avenue at 8:55 p.m. on Aug. 23, court papers state.

Basby fled the scene with an unknown sum of cash, cops said.

He was collared last Wednesday and charged with burglary, and was being held on $10,000 bail.

A burglar was caught slinking out of an East Harlem apartment building wearing a sweatshirt belonging to the person whose home was robbed, authorities said.

When he was spotted fleeing, Alexis Joseph, 38, was also carrying a bag of the victim’s clothing at 12:30 a.m. last Wednesday at the building on East 109th Street, according to court papers.

Joseph was arrested and charged with burglary.

Cops picked up a pervert who was posing as a construction worker when he molested a woman in Washington Heights, authorities said yesterday.

José Sierra, 26, groped the 53-year-old victim after throwing her against a wall in a building on Riverside Drive at 11:30 a.m. on March 13, cops said.

Sierra was busted last Thursday and charged with forcible touching.

A good Samaritan chased a would-be sex attacker from an Astoria apartment building, cops said.

Two 28-year-old roommates were entering their building on 21st Street at 2 a.m. Friday when the perv trained a gun on them and made his intentions known.

The women fought back, and a neighbor overhearing the attack chased the sicko out of the building and down the block.

Cops described the creep as about 6 feet tall, 185 pounds and 20 to 25 years old with short black hair.

Detectives busted a thug who beat a man in South Richmond Hill, authorities said.

Nicholas Kallo, 20, was arrested on Oct. 27 on attempted-robbery charges for allegedly jumping the victim at 103rd Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard at 4 p.m. on Oct. 5, said a spokeswoman for District Attorney Richard Brown.

Kallo punched and kicked the victim before demanding “what he was listening to,” according to court papers.

But Kallo fled empty-handed after rifling through the victim’s pockets, cops said.

Staten Island

A burglar broke into a West Brighton auto-body shop, smashed two cars and swiped items from a tow truck, authorities said.

Abraham Ramirez, 25, slipped through the fence at L&S Collision on Rector Street at 1:30 a.m. last Wednesday and broke the windows of a 2002 Jaguar and a 2003 Mitsubishi, court papers state.

He also snatched an E-ZPass and a GPS from a flatbed tow truck, cops said.

Responding cops caught Ramirez as he was fleeing the yard, police added.

He was charged with criminal mischief, auto stripping, possession of stolen property and criminal trespass, according to a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.

Brooklyn

Police have identified another groper on the prowl in Sunset Park, but this perv’s attack is independent of the sex-assault pattern that has been terrifying women in the borough, cops said.

A groper approached a 33-year-old woman from behind at Eighth Avenue and 49th Street at 1:15 a.m. on Sept. 8, grabbed her crotch and fled. The victim was able to snap a cellphone image of the fleeing attacker and provide it to cops.

The creep is described as about 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds with short black hair.
