* Police are seeking two thugs who menaced a 13-year-old girl with a knife and spewed anti-white insults at her.

The incident occurred in an apartment house lobby on Seventh Avenue near West 141st Street at around 6 p.m. Monday, the victim told cops.

The two men, described as black and Hispanic, followed the girl into an elevator, where they pulled a knife. She was not hurt. (lcf)

* The alert manager of an Upper West Side diner tipped off police about a suspicious customer – and cops arrested the man for breaking into another business located upstairs, police sources said.

The customer walked into the Metro Diner at West 100th Street and Broadway just after 10 p.m., an employee said.

The manager became “spooked” by him and flagged down an officer who was searching for someone who had broken into an apartment a few blocks away.

The customer tried to escape the diner by running up a staircase and breaking the window of a hair salon upstairs, cutting his hand. He fled via a fire escape and was nabbed on the street. (lcf replate)

* A teenage Mexican immigrant who disappeared last month – three days after he arrived in the country – was found yesterday in the psychiatric ward at Metropolitan Hospital, authorities said.

Source said Francisco Gonzalez, 16, went on a crack-cocaine binge with friends after he was last seen skateboarding at Lexington Avenue and East 116th Street on Oct. 29.

He had been staying with his family at their East Harlem apartment since Oct. 26.

Officials at the Upper East Side hospital notified police yesterday after seeing news reports of his disappearance.

BROOKLYN

* A gunman shot and critically wounded a 40-year-old man on a Flatbush street yesterday, police said.

The shooter confronted his victim and shot him in the chest at Flatbush Avenue near Lincoln Road at around 1 p.m.

The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital. The gunman fled. (m, s)

* A 48-year-old man was shot dead in broad daylight on a Flatbush street yesterday, police said.

Charles Gomez was shot once in the chest in front of 541 Flatbush Ave. at around 12:40 p.m., cops said. There were no immediate suspects and no motive, authorities said. lcf)

* A 25-year-old man died yesterday after being shot in the head on a Bed-Stuy street, police said.

An assailant approached him and opened fire at the corner of Malcolm X Boulevard and Macon Street at around 8:30 p.m. Monday.

The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he died. His name was not released.

* A 21-year-old man died yesterday in an early-morning blaze in Sheepshead Bay.

Police and firefighters were called to the building on Brown Street near Avenue Z, where the fire had erupted in a basement apartment at 4 a.m.

The victim went into cardiac arrest and was taken to Coney Island Hospital, where he died.

* The 40-year-old woman viciously stabbed in a Sunset Park mugging, identified yesterday as Ying Ye Mei, lost so much blood that police first feared she was going to die, authorities said.

She was walking home at 53rd Street and Seventh Avenue at 9 p.m. Monday, when she was accosted by a man brandishing a knife.

The man, described as a Mexican in his late teens or early 20s, grabbed her purse. During the struggle, the assailant stabbed Mei three times in the chest, three times in the arm, three times in the head and once in her back. He then fled with the pocketbook containing $300 in cash and credit cards.

Mei was rushed to Lutheran Hospital, where she was in critical but stable condition.

QUEENS

* A suspect has been arrested in the shooting of a 29-year-old man in a Jamaica apartment building, police said yesterday.

Eric Martinez, 24, allegedly accosted the victim in the building at 89th Avenue and 173rd Street on Oct. 2.

Arrested on Monday, he was charged with attempted murder and assault.

* An unidentified man was found dead under a train in a Rockaway subway station yesterday, police said.

The body was discovered at around 12:30 a.m. under a northbound shuttle train at Beach 98th Street station.

THE BRONX

* A man has been charged with assault in the shooting of an acquaintance on a Pelham Bay street, police said.

Robert Saccante, 19, allegedly pulled a gun and shot a 20-year-old man at Buhre Avenue near Pilgrim Avenue at 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 6.

Cops arrested Saccante on Monday, but said they did not know the motive for the attack. The victim was not seriously injured.
