* An Inwood man was shot and critically wounded yesterday in a Caribbean restaurant in his neighborhood.

The man, whose name was withheld, and his girlfriend were in El Rancho Jubilee on Hillside Avenue near Nagle Avenue around 1:30 a.m.

A gunman in his late 20s stormed in through a side door and shot his victim in the back and chest before fleeing.

Police did not have a motive in the shooting but said it was not random.

The wounded man was taken to Harlem Hospital. His girlfriend was not hurt.

* A 35-year-old man, busted yesterday as he burglarized an apartment in Astoria, was later found to be the responsible for mugging four women – including one earlier in the day, cops said.

David Mackerwics, of Staten Island, was nailed at the apartment on 20th Street at 6 p.m., police said.

It was later discovered that Mackerwics was responsible for four purse-snatchings over the past six months, the latest of which occurred yesterday at 1:10 p.m. on 21st Road, cops said.

In that case, he allegedly grabbed a 56-year-old woman’s purse, threw her to the ground and drove off in a blue Toyota.

The oldest of Mackerwics’ victims was a 91-year-old woman who was robbed and tossed to the ground on Ditmars Boulevard last Oct. 4, according to cops.

Mackerwics was charged with robbery.

BROOKLYN

* A 16-year-old boy was arrested yesterday for shooting four teens outside a party at a Williamsburg church in February, cops said.

Jose Valentin, also known as “Pito,” was nabbed yesterday for wounding the youths – ranging in age from 14 to 18 – outside the Evangelist Lutheran Church on Maujer Street on Feb. 21, police said.

Valentin, of Bushwick Avenue, was charged with four counts of assault as well as criminal possession of a weapon. (lcf)

* A 67-year-old Midwood man was arrested for choking his girlfriend and threatening to kill her, authorities said yesterday.

George Greene argued with Barbara McKeiver in his Avenue O apartment Saturday night.

During the dispute, he allegedly wrapped a tie around her neck and began strangling her.

Greene then twisted her arm and threatened to kill her and their 18-year-old son, who was not present, police said. Later, Greene allegedly pulled a knife or a razor and threatened McKeiver with it.

When their son came home, he noticed his mom’s injuries.

She was taken to Lutheran Hospital, where she was placed in intensive care.

Police arrested Greene on Wednesday at his home and charged him with assault, menacing and weapons possession.

* Two members of a Borough Park family attacked a man with a bottle during a botched robbery, authorities said yesterday.

Rafael Lopez, 21, and Chriftobol Lopez, 18 – whose exact relationship was not immediately known – clashed with Esmal Hernandez at 37th Street and Old New Utrecht Road at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Rafael demanded cash from Hernandez and struck him in the head with a beer bottle, police said.

Chriftobol then threw Hernandez to the ground and the two men fled, cops said.

Moments later, an officer on patrol saw Hernandez staggering across the street, bleeding profusely.

Hernandez described his attackers and cops arrested the suspects, who were charged with assault and attempted robbery.

Hernandez, 27, was released after treatment at Lutheran Hospital. (m, s)

* A 38-year-old man hit an older man and threatened to kill him in Crown Heights, authorities said yesterday.

Carl Porter was arguing with Austin Wint at Sullivan Place and Rogers Avenue at 11 p.m. Sunday over a debt.

Porter suddenly pulled out an object and struck Wint in the right hand, cops said.

Porter also allegedly brandished a knife, put it to Wint’s neck and threatened him before fleeing.

Wint immediately reported the incident to police and Porter surrendered around noon Wednesday.

He was charged with assault and menacing. (m, s)

A thief made off with cash from a Park Slope bank yesterday after slipping a demand note to a teller, police said.

The 9:40 a.m. robbery took place at the Astoria Federal branch on Seventh Avenue and President Street.

The bandit was described as a black man in his 30s last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, a blue and green T-shirt and a red baseball cap. (m, s)

STATEN ISLAND

* A 20-year-old man was arrested in the beating of a woman in Arlington last month, authorities said yesterday.

Yusef Russell allegedly punched Tarsha Harris in the face and body on Holland Avenue near Richmond Terrace around 2 a.m. on March 26.

He also took her cell phone before fleeing, cops said. Police busted Russell on Wednesday and charged him with harassment and petit larceny.

* Two brothers were nabbed after cops found them with a large quantity of crack cocaine in Pleasant Plains, authorities said.

A sergeant approached Anthony and Mark Mancino in their Ford Explorer at Drumgoole Road West near Bloomingdale Road at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

He reported recovering 41 plastic bags of crack, a small amount of cocaine, a hypodermic needle and three crack pipes.

The suspects were charged with drug possession and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle.
