*** Cops found a corpse on the roof of a Hamilton Heights building yesterday while they were looking for a missing man, police said.
Officers from the 30th Precinct made the gruesome discovery atop 701 Saint Nicholas Ave. at 11 a.m., police said.
Authorities said cops were canvassing the area in the hope of finding an elderly man who has been missing for several days.
Because the body was badly decomposed, the identity, gender and race of the person will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office, along with the cause and manner of death.
*** Two thugs mugged a man in Central Park, police said yesterday.
The 46-year-old victim, whose name was not released, was near East Drive and East 74th Street when the two thieves approached him.
They strong-armed the victim and stole his bag, which contained cash and personal documents, Thursday at 9:30 p.m., cops said.
EMS treated the victim, who sustained minor injuries during the robbery, at the scene, authorities said.
*** A robber pulled a bank heist in East Harlem yesterday, police said.
The thief walked into the Ponce DeLeon Bank at 1925 Third Ave. near East 106th Street around 1:30 p.m. and passed a teller a note demanding cash, authorities said.
The thief fled on foot after the bank employee handed him an undisclosed amount of money.
*** A body was found floating in the East River yesterday afternoon, police sources said.
The unidentified corpse was spotted around 4 p.m., in the waters near East 34th Street, law enforcement sources said.
QUEENS
*** Cops are searching for four men who murdered a Queens driver and wounded a gas station attendant during a botched robbery.
“If I saw the guy who shot him, I’d take his eyes out,” said Dendal Babb, 74, the heartbroken father of Victor Burnham, 47, who was killed in broad daylight at a Springfield Gardens Gulf station where his car was being serviced Thursday.
The suspects tried to rob the attendant, Baljit Singh, 45, at the gas station on the corner of 219th Street and Merrick Boulevard, around 4:45 p.m., cops said.
They shot Singh in the stomach. Then they attempted to rob Burnham and shot him before they took off, cops said.
Burnham died in the ambulance en route to the hospital.
*** Three computers were stolen from a Flushing school, authorities said yesterday.
A custodian discovered the heist at PS 214, at 31-15 140th St. when he showed up for work at 5:30 a.m. yesterday and noticed the lock on the front door was broken and the glass smashed, cops said.
Authorities say the burglary must have occurred between 5 p.m. Thursday – when the building manager locked up the school and set the alarm – and yesterday morning.
BROOKLYN
*** A routine traffic stop landed a 25-year-old Canarsie woman behind bars yesterday after a large brick of marijuana was found in her car, law enforcement sources said.
Jaqueline Stephens was pulled over in her Ford Explorer after making an illegal left turn at the East 80th Street and Avenue J intersection at 5:30 p.m.
When Police Officer Nicole Gondry, 31, and her partner walked up to the SUV, they were “overpowered by the smell of marijuana,” the source said.
The officers spotted a 10-pound brick of pot wrapped in plastic lying in plain view in the back of the SUV along with other drug paraphernalia, according to the source.
Stephens, of East 85th Street, was charged with felony possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license.

*** A racist scrawled messages of hate on the front steps of a Throgs Neck elementary school, police said yesterday.
Anti-black and anti-Semitic slurs written in white chalk were discovered Thursday morning at PS 192 at 650 Hollywood Ave., cops said.
